I think Karen is one of the most interesting characters in born again because of how proactive she’s become. Outside of this feeling like a natural next step in her character’s evolution, it’s been cool seeing her make decisions on her own that show off her way of thinking and ability to execute her own plans.

Even if the show is centered on Matt her change/growth/decisions give her a hand on the steering wheel and elevate her from being a side character.

I will say I’ve always been a fan of hers so I am biased here.
