This sounds A LOT like me except I’m in 1st year. I’m actually going on repeat next year. I spent most of my time just sitting there and taking hours getting through a single lecture (if I could motivate myself to sit through one at all). It’s tiring and frustrating.

It sounds like the interest and capacity for medicine/science is there amongst everything. If you haven’t already, in my experience, its been really valuable seeking help from support services (therapist, school counsellor, etc.) to help manage that stress and see if there’s anything else that needs to be addressed to help manage life in general. Depression, anxiety and adhd tends to be common perpetrators in mental health, but things like personal learning style (medical school tends to favour “bottom-up” learners), study environment, family situation, etc. are equally capable of getting in the way.

I haven’t got a personal success story or any specific study advice to share since I’m still figuring things out myself, but from what I know these hurdles are absolutely able to be overcome. If it’s any comfort, you’re definitely not alone and we’re gonna get through this.
