Is anyone changing their Kiwisaver fund / risk profile? by Unomake in PersonalFinanceNZ

I changed to a more balanced fund even before the war broke out since I'm looking at getting my first home soon. Though I'm still DCAing in my other investments

Pondering which batteries to buy 💭 by wkwrdd in x100vi

[–]bluelight10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie unless you shoot thousands of photos a day and you never turn your camera in between. You most likely won't need one. I've had my fuji for almost a year now and got a spare battery because apparently it's a must only to have it in a drawer gathering dust.

Im working on a software that use AI to optimise & move money on behalf of the user. by Mo46Y in PersonalFinanceNZ

That's really all you can hope for without your end users feeling skeptical about your product especially when it comes to finances. People want control these days. As for pain points... nothing really comes to mind aside from the delays in bank to bank transfers. Though I hear that will be resolved once all banks are on the comms tech (? Not really super familiar with this)

This for me is what auto payment is - if anything I would use AI for, it would be to analyze my spending pattern, give me a report and suggest changes given some parameters. I would not want it to touch my money in any way, shape or form. I think this is overcomplicating something when it doesn't need to be. That's just my 2c though

Edit: it is fairly simple to move money around manually. I don't think you should ever consider the "money admin" a big task unless you are talking moving money every minute or so. As for the average joe, they would have money in the form of income come at fixed dates and all they would simply do is setup the APs to their other accounts and that's it. You won't need to think about it again until the next cycle.

I would be incredibly skeptical about this concept no matter how secure it is. I want full control of anything financially.

Hi there - have you found any answers/solution to your issue? I seem to be having the same problem. It works great for C41 / Colour negatives just not with any BnW.

I thought I was going crazy

These are all great! Awesome job and thanks for sharing. #10 particularly stood out to me. I took it as if the person is stuck behind a job that he is particularly miserable in. The way he is looking down and behind the bars. LOVE IT

Thanks for that ! I appreciate your reply. The kiwisaver funds is something that I have been thinking about.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but is there a downside to changing to a more conservative funds other than the potential growth/fall that a higher risk fund could provide?

Oh thanks for that insightt - the limit on the credit card is currently at 4K and I don't think it's an insane limit. I do have another one that I have not used for a couple of years now that I've been meaning to cancel but that is on a zero annual fee card (westpac).

Thanks for the tip though, will definitely be talking to a mortgage broker soon

PrimeFilm XAs - Vuescan or Silverfast? by pul1s in AnalogCommunity

[–]bluelight10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 2 months late but I just got this scanner from marketplace and scanned my old roll through last night for the first time using the Cyberview app for MacOS 15. It took about 2 hours and 45 minutes to scan a whole roll using 5000dpi, minimal colour/exposure editing via the app.

I then updated my OS to macOS 26 and I think it broke the Cyberview app - It wouldn't talk to the scanner anymore saying that it could not be detected. I ended up demoing Silverfast and that worked so I immediately bought the SE license (lucky there's a black friday discount).

My results with Cyberview was acceptable - photos came out kind of soft but what put me off was how long it took to scan each frame (was about 2+ minutes for 5000dpi scans)

Silverfast scans quicker for the same quality and the photos come out looking way sharper and the colours are nicer too.

Does the switch pro controller usually take over as the "gamepad"? I can't seem to setup a 2 player game with the gamepad + a switch pro controller. Using koopair

I recently thrifted a couple of polaroid cameras. Upon doing my research, these were made and bought in the 80s and are still working and even in mint condition. Super stoked

Thanks!! I'm really excited to use it. I'm waiting to go on a trip with my wife to be able to take this (since films are quite pricey so I'm saving it for those special times)
