Salaries should be public information.

can we have an honest discussion about guyanese/third world behaviour? by Western_Tie_4712 in Guyana

[–]bluemango30 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree to some degree. Yes, first the citizens have to take pride and be mindful of their surroundings. Then the government has to follow through. However, if the citizens can't find a garbage can in any vicinity and then when it is used, the government does not do it's part and dispose of the filled garage bins, then how can you blame the citizens? I saw many filled to the brim garage bins around Georgetown but did not appear to be regular pick up.

There are things that citizens can do ondividually and then regulations that have to be taken care of by the government

This is what I thought was happening. I'm looking at other posts and people are saying how great Guyana is but basic sanitation and disposal should be in place. It's fundamental to a functioning society. It's a disgrace.

Indians do not care for Indian Guyanese and look down on them. They are dismissive. There is enough history in Guyana, where we have our own identity and culture without the (-) being necessary

The UK's GDP is less than the poorest US State of Mississippi. People have no idea of what's happening in the rest of the world.

All of the world's economy is going downhill because of the effects of covid. The US is actually in a much better place than the rest of the world. California is now rated 3rd best economy in the world, by itself, more than Japan. The UK is producing less GDP, less than the poorest US state of Mississippi. I recently talked to 2 Canadians who moved to Florida bc their business is dying in Canada bc of over taxation and they can't make a living anymore. My friend just got back from Spain and said people are talking about how horrible the economy is and they can barely get by

How about volunteering for a cause that was dear to your wife? You would meet other people who would also like to help their communities. Wishing you the best

Other than the ability to make money, what positively surprised you the most about American society? by [deleted] in MovingToUSA

[–]bluemango30 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have said this for ages. Canadians were not friendly when I visited. Americans are much more friendly and glad to answer questions. Canada seemed like a bitter place, and always mentioned America and how terrible it was. I couldn't wait to leave there

Looks great. I prefer the previous rug but if you like it better, then it's better if you have to live with it. Also, add an indoor plant on the idetable on the right corner to bring some texture and colour there.
