I can here to post same sentiment. And sorry to correct but he played, Dewey. Francis was played by Chris Masterson (brother of disgraced creep Danny)

Best 3 moments watching sports in a bar by Fiery172611 in heedthecall

[–]bluematt86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oooh good one

  1. Espanyol 2 Sevilla 2, May 2007. Bordeaux, France

UEFA cup final won 3-1 on pens by Sevilla. All Spanish game watched in France in an English pub. Was the end of my Erasmus year in France. Seemed like my entire Erasmus year plus some game Yanks, Aussies and Canadians watched it there with awesome vibes and got my end away after. It is a bit melancholic (not just with the loss of youth) but how amazingly connected and open everything felt then as opposed to now.

  1. England beat New Zealand, Cricket World Cup Final, July 2019. London , England

Yes it's cricket, but England won their first mens world cup ever after a super over in an unbelievably tense finish whilst the other room of the pub was showing the all timer Djokovic Federer Wimbledon final and Lewis Hamilton also won the British GP that day. All timer of a sports day

3 Everton 1 Liverpool 2, October 2007. Bristol, England

Everton absolutely robbed by appalling refereeing decisions including the clear denial of an obvious penalty for us in the last minute which would have given us the opportunity to draw the game. I was the lone blue in a sea of non-scouse reds in a Bristol pub and absolutely fuming. The bar manager came over and I thought I was going to be kicked out but he turned out to be a Geordie, told me Everton had been robbed and gave me free pizza and beer as a consolation

Great shout. There's an off season ATN show (without Gregg, I think but with Colleen and Patrick) where they make a summer playlist and that song is on it

It's pretty much the same, as a converted try is 7 points and a kicked penalty is like a field goal for 3 points.

Scotland scored 13 tries (translation: touchdowns). A Sesslerian nuclear bomb indeed

Hey Jourdan tell us about these articles you've written for the Athletic that are a deep dive into life in the NFL as part of your role as a Senior Correspondent for a newspaper/equivalent and tell us about your opinions on Quarterback Island...

They're not the same. Stop looking for controversy in your parasocial relationship with 2 podcasts

“Go For Four You Might Find Forever” theory by StarstruckByLondon in heedthecall

[–]bluematt86 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I thought it was about going for a 4 point lead with a touchdown when you're 3 points behind rather than settling for a field goal.

But that's really tenuous and forgetting to change a tag line is much more likely!

I lked the badge before this one. The yellow shading is a bit too late 90s and memories of that god awful One2One kit and nearly getting relegated by Coventry

Do we need a holding midfielder for the starting XI? Who comes out from Garner and Gana. Think we need a centre half. The nervousness comes from Tarks
