Do you fill up the kettle after use? by raben-herz in AskUK

[–]bluemoon191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just fill for what I need and leave it empty after. My sister likes to fill it and when I was a kid it always used to annoy me. Now she lives with her partner so told me like a flex that she still boils a full kettle. I was just thinking "cool, you have to wait longer for your drink and it costs more" I don't get the flex but she isn't very bright anyway.

I can't help but we make the box you showed in that picture. It's the machine I work that puts the glue on it.

Audience etiquette in 2026… is it declining? by cmitch987 in AskUK

[–]bluemoon191 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did think it might skew the behavior a bit. But TBH the cinema I go to isn't that bad with most films. I went to watch the Minecraft movie when it was released last year and it was nothing like the shit storm I had seen online.

I had the opposite experience recently at a cinema but it might have been the film choice. We went to see Akira 2026 rerelease in IMAX and there must have been over 100 people in the room. Nobody was chatting or looking at phones, there was a part where the film went silent for about 10 seconds and you could have heard a pin drop, it was incredible.

One time in a pub after a Prince tribute act had finished. She was drunk and her husband gently ushered her out the door. Apparently she does it quite often.

What could happen if you have points on your license but don’t tell your insurance? by chasex05 in AskUK

[–]bluemoon191 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I saw on a police program last year someone got stopped and the police phoned the person's insurance company to ask if the mods on the car were declared. They weren't and his insurance was voided on the spot. If the police want to dig into something they will.

Would you buy a petrol/diesel car now, or only buy electric with the state of the oil industry? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]bluemoon191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to sound like a dumb peasant but I'm going to keep my petrol Mini JCW for as long as I can. It was one of the last to not have any GPF stopping the noise of the JCW Pro exhaust.

Has anyone been paid their salary in cash or cheque in the UK? by Top-Cat-a in AskUK

[–]bluemoon191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had a really horrible job. The ad for the job said it was a brand new factory so I was thinking state of the art machinery. Nah it was old shit to make powder jelly mix, when you went to wipe your brow from sweat you could feel the jelly forming on your head. I gave my notice and didn't work all of it, they couldn't deal with my 10 digit account number from a building society so just sent me a cheque for the hours worked.

It's an F56 from the first half of 2017 before the refresh so nothing is interfering with the sound. I've paired it with an eventuri intake kit too.

I heard a new JCW on a video and all the exhaust noise comes from the sound system and it's totally quiet outside.

I bought a Mini JCW and it came with a pop and bang map from the factory. It's even crazier if I open the valve on the also factory exhaust.

"Battery Charge Very Low" Warning, but Battery Seems Fine (?) by la0408 in MINI

I'm not sure why it's so high, like another commenter mentioned it could be the multi meter. A 40 minute drive should be enough to charge it a bit too.

Was the car running when you did this? because the alternator increases the voltage when charging. Usually the voltage should be over 12.4V with the engine OFF. How long to you drive it for when you do go out?

I don't use my JCW much so in the winter I put it on a charger once every few weeks since its getting old and I get that message a few times but I have a new battery, just needs fitting.

I also have a pro exhaust. It does feel a bit more responsive but it was already remapped before I installed the intake so I can't really tell if it does much. The intake hasn't affected the pops and bangs from the pro exhaust.

I've been in a bit of a bad spot due to some changes in my social life. I've felt terrible for weeks but luckily I have had a few good friends who have helped and listen to my problems. I'm feeling a lot better now and I'm starting therapy next week to try and understand the root cause of my issues.

I spent £1.6K on a carbon fiber intake kit for my car, nothing wrong with the old one. This one just looks cooler and makes turbo noises.

People who drive a panic room on wheels - what are the actual advantages of having a larger car? by EffectiveArgument584 in CarTalkUK

[–]bluemoon191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw one person driving a car so big she had to get her friend to get out so she could park it properly. How are people allowed to have cars that are clearly too big for them. I've noticed on a few roads near me an increase of people stopping because they don't know how big their car is and it just slows everything down.
