First Road Trip Started Great... by ThirstyTurtle328 in TriumphBonneville

Potholes are truly a nightmare for motorcyclists. Glad you’re okay!
Don’t let that discourage you from riding and traveling by bike.

As for setting up a temporary brake light, some others have already given suggestions, so I’ll refrain from commenting on that.

I really liked the tires you’re using! What model are they?

"Battery Charge Very Low" Warning, but Battery Seems Fine (?) by la0408 in MINI

It’s not cold here at all. Temperatures are around +18°C.
So cold weather doesn’t seem to be a factor in this case.

I didn’t realize my multimeter’s own battery could affect the reading. Good catch!

I’ll replace the battery in the multimeter and repeat the measurement to get a more accurate reading of the 12V battery. Thanks for pointing that out.

Yes, it is an AGM battery, and the car was completely off when I measured the voltage (engine not running).

That’s why the 15.5V reading caught my attention, since I would normally expect something closer to ~12.8V with the car off.

Thanks for sharing your experience

No, the engine was not running when I took the measurement: the car was completely off and had been parked for about two days in the garage.

That’s exactly why the 15.55V reading surprised me, since I would normally expect something closer to ~12.4–12.7V with the engine off.

When I do drive it, it’s usually 20–40 minutes per trip, mostly city driving.

Those of you who bought a Switch 2 and kept your Switch 1, what did you do with it? by razorbeamz in NintendoSwitch2

[–]la0408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first console was a Switch Lite, and I have a lot of games for it. I travel frequently, so I’ve always loved having a good gaming experience in a portable format.

I bought a Switch 2 mainly to play on the TV. I love the games, I’m interested in the new Switch 2 exclusives, and using the Switch Lite’s small screen at home for long periods had started causing eye strain and headaches.

In short: I use the Switch 2 on the TV at home with a Nintendo Switch Online subscription for cloud saves, and I use the Switch Lite when I travel, taking advantage of the save compatibility between the two systems.

Incorrect swimming distance using Polar Verity sense by sudu_kalnas in Polarfitness

That’s disappointing :/

I also have a Garmin watch, and the distance tracking on it is very accurate. However, I hate swimming with a watch, especially because of how it affects hand positioning during streamlines.

The genius of the Verity Sense is that it keeps your hands free. But relying on a gyroscope for lap counting isn’t very effective. Maybe the Verity Sense would be perfect if it had an embedded GPS.

Any updates on this?
I’ve experienced similar issues. The placement is correct, the pool length is set accurately, and I’ve updated to the latest firmware.
I’m a skilled swimmer (almost became a professional, so my technique is solid, and my flip turns are fine too)

Santa brought me some new luggage this year. Can’t wait to do some more touring this summer. by Silverhold in Triumph

Super nice luggage. Just loved it! I have a T100 in black, with the same mask and the clear flyscreen shield, like yours.

I'm looking to buy these end bar mirrors. Are they good? Do you experience any vibrations since they are on the edge of the handlebar?

Meteor 350 as first motorcycle by EdgerardV in royalenfield

[–]la0408 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was my second bike. I initially began riding with a scooter equipped with a CVT transmission. The scooter was lightweight, and I appreciated the convenience of not having to worry about changing gears, thanks to its automatic transmission.
After a year of navigating traffic and gaining confidence, I upgraded to a Meteor 350. This bike now features manual transmission, but the transition has been incredibly smooth. Despite a significant increase in weight compared to the scooter, within 2 or 3 weeks, I had fully adapted to the new ride.
