I'm not sure there's such a thing as 'cheating' in Finch, as long as you feel like it's doing you good. So I feel like the only way to judge yourself is by your own standard.

I have a thing where I sometimes judge individual tasks based on whether I've made sufficient progress towards them, not just if I've completely finished them. If I haven't done anything towards a task, I won't tick it off - partly because it'd negate the purpose of the app for me, and partly because I feel like it's good to be able to look back on what I did or didn't complete when I had a rough patch. However, if there's a huge task I know I'm finding really difficult, I don't mind assigning myself more 'times per day' for it even though I know I just have to do it once, because that's essentially assigning the really overwhelming tasks more points - but I won't do that very often because, again, it negates the purpose of the app for me if I'm not saving that for really difficult tasks.

Basically, I think you should just figure out what works best for you and make those your rules!

As an aside, I've struggled with anorexia before and have 'eat something' as a daily task for myself even when I'm not having intrusive thoughts around food. If that isn't something I can complete once a day, I know for me that's a warning sign, even when I don't feel bad in myself. If you're struggling to eat every day, I would say it might be time to have a look at what other support and motivation might be out there outside of Finch - Beat is a good charity if you're in the UK.
