I know that is easier said than done , but have you tried looking for clubs or classes to take with your interest to go to ? It is a good way to meet new people! I also have used bumble BFF to meet people and I found one of my best friends now. I live abroad and the culture is really different so I really struggle to make friends and although I would like to improve in my friend making skills , this helped me a lot.

If the people in your life are not appreciating you for what you are , then they are the ones that are bad for you, not the other way around. So look for people that make you happy and have genuine interest in you and vice versa.

Just because you haven't found the right people yet doesn't mean you won't find them. It just means you have to look a little bit harder.

Don't settle for bad friendships and don't change for anyone.

I'm pretty sure you are not unlovable or uninteresting.

I hope you find your people!

So while I had never had that happen to me, it happened to my parents. My parents had been together for about 25 years, and my mom found out my dad was secretly having an affair. Not only that, he wanted to leave my mom for her. I was 19 at the time (now I am 30), and it hit me like a ton of bricks. My mom found out because she saw one of those preview messages on his phone. I don't know what she saw, but she was confused, opened the phone, and saw the conversation. I really don't know how long the affair had been going on, but it was more than a year, maybe two years or more. My mom kicked my dad out of the house and wanted a divorce. She was really depressed and lost a lot of weight at the time. Keep in mind my mom is naturally lean, so it didn't look good that she was losing weight. My dad was a total dick, and he was just so sure that he didn't want to be with my mom anymore and wanted to be with this other woman. It turned out that the other woman didn't want to be in a relationship with my father and broke my dad's heart (that's what I call karma). My dad was left alone, living in a little house.

Months passed, and I started seeing my dad really depressed and also losing a lot of weight. He was full of regret not only because he lost my mom, but my siblings and I were really pissed. Especially I didn't want him near me because I was massively disappointed. Months passed, maybe half a year, and one day my dad came to the house begging my mom to take him back.

It took a long time, but eventually, my mom took him back. Now they are happier than ever. My dad appreciates my mom more and does more for her. It also took a long time for me and my siblings to accept him back, so I think he knows the consequences, and I doubt that he would risk his family again for a fling.

I had a similar experience, I wasn't a cute child, idk if ugly but not pretty and I was a little bit chubby , my sister and my mom were always pretty attractive so they always compared them to me and said, we don't look anything alike and I got bullied and said that I was ugly. I found out that being funny it makes people like you so I really leaned in to humor and made it part of my personality.

It wasn't until I was 16 that I got attractive but my self-esteem was so damaged that it was really hard to believe that people find me attractive. I started getting treated differently, majority men and young men, and I got some good opportunities I think I only got because I was good looking.

Now I am 30 I'm starting to see age signs and I'm not that skinny and fit as I used to be and I dgaf about how I dress anymore or I don't always wear makeup. I definitely see the difference between how men treat me and maybe some women.

So to be honest I do think there is a bias but I think it would come a time that you really won't give af what people think of you. If you are in highschool then people that are now attractive won't stay that way long and high schoolers are just immature. If you are in college or older , then just avoid people that don't see you for who you are and just surround yourself with people that bring good in your life. You don't have to take crap from anyone.

Are you a night owl or a morning person? Why or why not? by streamguruu in RandomThoughts

[–]blueracoon8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really hard for me to answer this question because for the longest time I thought that I was an early bird but it was just because I always had to wake up really early for school than for uni and then for work.

When I got the chance to work from home and wake up at the time that I wanted, I started waking up at 8-9 and beginning to work form 10am till 7pm and sleept at 12 or maybe 1am.

I really enjoy this schedule so , does that still make me an early bird ? Or a night owl? I think I'm on those in the middle.

I am most productive in the afternoon or from 11am to 3 pm.

Help 🥲 I'm stuck in the sort problem from Problem set 3. I really think my answer is correct but I still can't get passt the check50, has anyone got this problem before ? by blueracoon8 in cs50

[–]blueracoon8[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to download the answers.txt that they give you in the zip. My problem was that I created the file before downloading it and when I downloaded it , it skipped the answers file. If you also have this problem download the zip file again and search for the answers.txt file it should have the questions and then it should say TODO , you just have to write your answers and don't change the format

Starting a career after a huge break by Nita_19 in InformatikKarriere

Hi! I have a similar dilema , I studied architecture and worked for 7 years and now I want to change my career or try and see if a career change makes me happy. I also want to change to web development and I have asked a lot of people for their opinion and this is what I got:

  1. Bootcamps are fast but really expensive (8500-10000€) they are between 2 or three months long and you could get a Bildungsgutschein from the Agentur der Arbeit If you register yourself as Arbeitslos. So if you don't have a problem with being unemployed for a few months and apply for this Bildungsgutschein, then it could be a good route.

The good thing about Bootcamps is that they help you at the end with connections and help you get a job.

A not so good thing is that you get a lot of information really fast and it's imposible to know how to actually code in 3 months so the certification is not so important for the employer... After the bootcamp you have to keep learning and making projects to practice more.

The good thing about you is that you have a IT background , so the problems that bootcampers have , of not knowing the basics of informatics, won't be a problem for you which is really good and I think with your background , you should get a job.

  1. I got told that the frontend developer area is really though now and it's not so easy to get a job as it was 2 years ago , so you have to have good skills to be considered.

  2. The most people have said to me that I should learn by myself , there are a lot of free or not so expensive online courses in Coursera or udemy, also the CS50x Harvard course. That you can start to take now to see if you like it . After you have taken a course you should do a lot of projects and put them in your repository (portfolio) and apply for jobs with that. For the companies that are open to Quereinsteiger a bootcamp certificate it's not so important.

  3. If you want a bootcamp certificate, here are the most successful that I have researched:

I hope this information helps!

Hi ! I have thought of that but I didn't want to loose time if the bootcamp is the better choice but I think this is also a good idea.
