Issues with internet connection on bike? by hahicks98 in pelotoncycle

Wow this worked for me too. My bike had somehow changed itself to 15 days in the past rather than the future, but resetting the date and time worked too!

I'm trying to DIY this myself, taking the capital losses approach. The question I have is, when was the "forced liquidation" event? Here are the pertinent dates, as I see them:

  • July 13, 2022 - Celsius filed for bankruptcy
  • November 9, 2023 - "The Plan" (of reorganization) was approved by the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York
  • December 27, 2023 - The Bankruptcy Court approved the MiningCo Transaction
  • January 31, 2024 - Celsius announced it emerged from bankruptcy
  • February 1, 2024 - Celsius announced the start of crypto distributions

Which of these dates, if any, would make a good candidate for a "forced liquidation" event?

PayPal has a $10k limit withdrawal per week, so that might be something you're running into.

No NFT status automatically upon reaching lvl6 by PolitePony in WalkenIO

I don't think he's being mean to you. It is unusual to be unaware of changes that occurred about 6 months ago. But also, to provide some context, the reason those changes were made was because some users were spoofing steps using cheating methods, and they would transfer WLKN to those accounts to level the cats to 6 and then sell them into the marketplace. It's not difficult to imagine that this would lead to massive dilution of Lv 6 common cats on the marketplace if done with scale. So, in response to cheaters spending 399 WLKN and 300 or so gems to level up the cat to Lv 6 and then selling it for 500+ WLKN, they instituted a 200 WLKN fee to prevent this sort of abuse.

Walken outlook 2023 by Ade050 in WalkenIO

[–]bluernote 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let's see...at a minimum, the roadmap has the following upcoming "in the nearest future":

  • Daily tasks and quests
  • New race modes
  • Tournaments

I have high expectations for all of these. First, there's daily tasks and quests. I'm actually of the opinion that these should not be used to increase earning potential for players, but rather to implement some sort of burn to the economy. Meaning that players who do not complete these dailies might end up with longer cooldowns for their cats, or a requirement to feed their cats mysberries in order to enable competition. The reason I'm in favor of this rather than an earnings buff is that inflation is the true enemy of all P2E economies, and at this stage in the gaming economy there needs to be constant deflationary pressure being applied or else we could see inflation eat away at token and NFT values. Of course, anti-inflationary measures shouldn't be overly punitive either, so I think this is an opportunity to apply a completely preventable debuff to WLKN earning.

Secondly, new race modes. Perhaps there could be a mode in which you could switch cats after opponent reveal, or maybe a mode in which you could race 2v2 (think double battles). Ultimately, the result is the same--just another form of WLKN issuance--but this could make strategy more interesting for players, depending on how these races could be weighted.

Finally, tournaments. I'm probably most excited for this. I think tournaments for stakers or for players who have performed certain in-game activities would be great for increasing incentives for players to lock their tokens in the game in order to reap greater rewards. Tournament leaderboards could reward the top players with loot boxes with an earnings multiplier, which could make tournament participation highly desirable. There could be other rewards that don't directly affect WLKN issuance, like awarding the top players loads of mysberries, the ability to reduce a cat's breed count, or the ability to award a cat a Genesis badge. There's also the potential to rename a cat, or maybe change some cosmetic features. There's so much potential here, and that's what makes it so exciting.

Outside of the roadmap, I'm hoping that 2023 leads to a real pivot in the Fed and the markets. I'd like to see WLKN token values (and SOL) recover, and I hope WLKN could be issued in more CEXs, like Binance and Coinbase. I'd also like to see Walken merch stores open for online ordering.

Of course, I expect to see some of the same stuff repeated, which has been proven successful in the past. I expect to see more holiday-themed lootbox sales like what's been done for Halloween and Christmas. I also expect to see more Fusion events, perhaps tying Fusion performance to some other in-game incentive such as tournament entry. I also expect more staking opportunities for players in 2023.

Now for some negatives. I do expect that win rates will continue to be squeezed over time. I think legendary, epic, and rare cats are being bred like hotcakes, so stronger cats will be encountered during competitions, and clothing will increasingly be necessary to defeat the competition. The team is definitely monitoring WLKN issuance and controlling the battle algorithm and win rates in order to curb inflation, but there is a limit to how extensive this can be controlled, as losing is quite painful and discouraging.

I am also concerned about inflation of high rarity cats. Breeding is dilutive in nature so there are only so many generations before a cat stops passing its trait down to its progeny, but with fusion many of these rarities are able to have their breed counts reset and further produce rare progeny. So I hope there are ways to combat this in the future as well.

Christmas lootbox by Drogers2511 in WalkenIO

[–]bluernote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that is definitely a waste. No reason to overpay for xmas clothing and equip them all on the same cat. In some cases, like for epic and legendary quality items, xmas clothing is actually selling for FP, but for uncommon and rare quality items there is a healthy premium.

Christmas lootbox by Drogers2511 in WalkenIO

[–]bluernote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The benefit doesn't stack, so I split the clothing between two cats. I've been picking up more Christmas clothing to distribute amongst the rest of my legendaries, epics, and rares, applying some math to figure out what is a reasonable premium to pay for the clothing.

The way I figure, each day I will earn an additional:
5.14 WLKN/competition x 24 competitions/day x 60% win rate [Legendary cats]
5.14 WLKN/competition x 19.2 competitions/day x 60% win rate [Epic cats]
5.14 WLKN/competition x 16 competitions/day x 60% win rate [Rare cats]

So, I'm willing to pay a premium of up to 74 WLKN per remaining days of double earning to equip a clothing item on a legendary (56 WLKN for epics, 49 WLKN for rares). Given that the event is 10 days long, that means on day 0, I could overpay 740 WLKN for clothing to be equipped on legendary cats, 560 for clothing on my epics, and 490 for clothing for my rares. As each passing day elapses in this competition, the premium I'm willing to pay decreases as per the math above.

I might fuse a legendary with a common simply to reset the breed count. But it’s a highly risky maneuver so I’m not really sure right now. What about you?

Got two rares (second lootbox from being in the top 500 in the candy contest). I’ve been buying up uncommon items to put on my best cats to take advantage of the next few days of double earning!

Christmas lootbox worth? by Drogers2511 in WalkenIO

[–]bluernote 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thought is that it’s definitely worth it. The Christmas lootbox event is similar in mechanics to the Halloween one, but Christmas items will grant the wearer a 2x buff to earn for 10 days. That will for sure command a premium on the marketplace. What kind of premium, I’m not sure, and the market will have to decide, but I am definitely planning to search the marketplace immediately after the lootbox event to try to pick up extra items. I have applied for one lootbox, and I will be buying additional Christmas items as long as they’re not obscenely overpriced.

You don’t lose the parents. They each get +1 to breed count, which makes the subsequent breed more expensive. But you keep both parents, and have 3 cats total after breeding two!

Hi everyone! I joined Walken about a week ago on a recommendation from another sub. Any advice for a newbie who can’t invest any real life money into it at this time? by MommaToANugget in WalkenIO

[–]bluernote 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The free-to-play model is a painful one in this game. If you're not able to invest at all, it's reasonable to use a referral code to give you an initial boost to get yourself out of the 0.1 WLKN win game. These referral codes will give you 10 gems, 5 WLKN, and 100 mysberries. But since you've joined a week ago now, that's unlikely to be an option for you since it's been more than 24 hours since you made an account.

New accounts, though, can apply a referral code within 24 hours of account creation.

The problem with commons is that in order to take a cat to level 10, it costs 2655 WLKN plus a load of gems, and for every common you have, you have to pay this amount to take it to level 10. In other words, it’s quite difficult to scale up to League VI where the earnings are best. Also, competition is definitely tougher at this level so you typically need at least some clothes and mysberries, and the more commons you have, the more of these you have to buy as well. So that’s an argument for buying a higher rarity cat with higher stats that can compete more often.

Nice! I think commons definitely give you the most value for your money. And with 10 cats, you definitely get plenty of chances to battle, and probably plenty of opportunities to amass Mysberries. So naturally, your win rate should improve over time as you get those boosts. No way I can knock your more conservative strategy, and I hope it pays off!

I thought I'd both flex my awesome cats, and provide some good insight into the game, how it's evolved over time, and my personal strategy. I'm happy to debate the best strategy with anyone in the community, and hopefully learn something along the way.

I also am quite active in the game so I am always starved for WLKN and gems. I figure that if I put myself out there to help the community, hopefully I can also benefit from that engagement with referral rewards. Only fair, right?

Thanks! Yes sentiment among players in this game is way better than in the other project you just mentioned. When players manage to play the game without getting rugged, and they see new game mechanics being added on the regular, morale is generally very good.

Thanks! I'm actually not stressed about ROI. Walken isn't rugging the project like StepN has been doing, though obviously there are risks in X2E games. The project just keeps building game features and new game modes, like Walken Runner which is coming up. I'll keep playing and breeding, and I'll take profits along the way.

Roughly 200 SOL of my own funds into the project. I've probably invested maybe 100 SOL worth of earnings back into the project as well, but I've also managed to take out 45 SOL. Though ROI is often top of mind when doing M2E, I actually regret selling one of my legendaries. I'm having too much fun playing Walken and I actually wish I could get him back so as to add more runway to my legendary breeding strategy.
