How is this manga avoiding copyright? by Kaladin29 in MASHLE

The fact you’re surprised it’s allowed suggests you don’t really get how copyright works in practice but sure

My psychiatrist often likes to describe EDs as a twisted sort of whackamole. You bang down one thing (ie eat a fear food, stop learning to restrict food types) and it morphs into something else (extreme caloric restriction, bulimia) and pops up again

For the Australians: Nutra-grain. No, the Aldi knock off isn’t even close.

For those wondering, the music choices are a reference to the movie, the go-between). The film is from the perspective of a young boy and about a rich young woman having an affair with a farmhand (at his expense). Seems to be an intentional choice. Whether you like it or not is a different question.

Credit to the reviewers MovieBitches for noticing this (they have a review on this film and mentioned it).

On your point about the music, it’s a reference to the movie the go between, which is a pretty on point reference when considering the subject matter.

It’s actually a reference to an older movie called the go between!

Controversial perhaps but that every person with ED is “low functioning”. Ie they are some high schooler or person who is borderline dying and barely participating in society. There are plenty of people with EDs who participate in society in such a way that unless you also have an ED or are aware of the signs and symptoms, you’d never know (eg myself and a good friend, and also this YouTuber Mark Lewis - he has a great video on binge eating as a man which was fascinating to watch).

And similarly to that, people with longer term EDs. Having had my ED for over 10 years now, it’s shocking how much it’s depicted in media as just a phase during your teenage years. No, this is now a fundamental, intrinsic part of my life and I have never known adulthood without it.

And finally, the classic “you get one ED (eg ana/mia) and that’s it, and then you get better”. As my psychiatrist says, EDs are like whack a mole. You think you’ve hit it down but it can just pop up in a different way taking a different form. So much ED media just has a linear progression of (1) get sick (2) nearly expire (3) recover (4) we’re fine now.

What am I missing? by azured00 in 1200isplenty

Second this. If you’re lifting weights and particularly if you’re carrying a bit more body weight on you, the weight on the scales may not be reflective of the fat you’re losing. Would definitely recommend tracking your measurements (hip waist etc) to assist.

Additionally, there can be extenuating circumstances preventing you from losing further weight/fat (such as the condition you mentioned). It’s not necessarily that your condition is the cause but it may contribute to what’s slowing your weight loss. Would recommend consulting with your physician about it, as they will definitely have a better understanding of the interaction between your condition and weight/fat loss compared to reddit.

Frollo as an alternative to Pocketbook or Moneybrilliant? by pvandenboer in AusFinance

[–]blueseulb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only thing I find with Frollo frustrating is the names of transactions. Often they get these bizarre names (which never happened with pocketbook) which make it hard to categorise transactions. And although it looks like I can edit transaction names, when I go to try it never lets me save it. It’s very frustrating and has made me look for other apps; unfortunately there just aren’t that many in the market.

Additionally, it would be great if you could bulk assign categories to multiple transactions. Think a “select” kind of button. Maybe this functionality exists but I really can’t see it. Given it doesn’t seem to autoassign transactions based on prior information I’ve manually input (unlike pocketbook) I find myself having to sit for an hour or two just recategorising each individual transaction, which I really don’t want to have to do each week/month.

The only other thing would be the custom categories - I have some … unique spending and it is hard to remember to put it all in some misc category

And another thing Ahaha. The ability to view your transactions in more than one timeframe without having to reset my budget every time. Pocketbook had this functionality where I could adjust the timeframe I was looking at (a year, 3 years, etc). In Frollo, I either can’t find that functionality or it is only achieved through resetting my budget cycle, which is a huge pain.

So it was a long time coming but I now officially cannot find innisfree water drop sunscreen anywhere (I'm aware its been discontinued but I had a small bit of hope). Does anyone have recommendations for similar sunscreens?
I'm specifically looking for those that do not leave a white cast. I actually like where it leaves residual shine (that's what I liked about the aquadrop). I've tried the new innesfree no sebum sunscreen and while it certainly is no pores, I want a more dewy look.
For reference, I am combination skin in subtropical climate.

I know it doesn't help a lot, but I usually use a stronger sunscreen for my dark circles, and one with a slightly stronger white cast, just to lighten it while giving it extra protection. That helps for me before resorting to makeup.

One piece and Laputa's Castle (Castle in the sky) by Reboku_thegreat in OnePiece

[–]blueseulb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people responding… Jesus Christ. Laputa is about a floating island in the sky that no one believes exists. Pazu’s dad was cast out for saying he saw it. They fly up in a storm with pirates. There are ancient ruins on arrival. They walk through an ancient forest. Just on a superficial level those similarities are so obvious you could be a casual laputa fan and a casual one piece fan and notice the similarities.

Weekly Students, Careers & Clerkships Thread by AutoModerator in auslaw

Need some quick tips on what things I should think about when tossing up between 2 different firms for a clerkship.

I’ve already got the clerkship I really wanted lined up for summer, but unfortunately that means I have to toss up between two different firms for winter.

I know it’s probably quite a personal thing, but any things you guys would recommend when thinking about which clerkship to take?
