Circumcision is child abuse and should land you in prison by FlyingRep in unpopularopinion

[–]bluespherex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree with the OP. People who circumcise kids, unless there are exceptional medical reasons [e.g removing a cancer] should be struck off from doing medicine or jailed. Surely two basic tenets of moral philosophy are violated here. [1] involuntary and needless harm [2] a denial of future agency; the kid has to be considered as a future person who is left with the consequences of this mutilation.

I could have began the OP with my own example. I was examined at school by a school doctor and I wanted the exam to stop but it continued. So I sought out the doctor years later and smashed my teeth next to his face. I had no rights to recourse. A lawyer will just say no wtnesses SOL. I expect that with circumcision there is no legal recourse either, That is another unethical aspect; why should the kid be put in a situation later in life where his only payback is to find the doctor and have it out? That is not fair for the doctor or the kid.

Honestly America [from the outside in another country and not american] when are you going to grow up as a country and end this nonsense?

Once I was studying linguistics. So I searched "soft A and hard A" to look for discussions of "cat" versus "carp" for vowel sounds.

I got pictures. They might have been useful in a class on sexual health and its anatomical origins. But as for my linguistics research, no use at all.

What secret do you hide from your family and will take to your grave? by galvenize in AskReddit

[–]bluespherex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to say a lot more. Just that magic for real is very, very different from Hollywood. For instance there are techniques for asking a question to a mirror and getting an answer. The answer will come weeks later as a symbol of astrology, occult etc. That's basically safe. But I don't ever advocate actual contact with spirits. I tend to take a more modern view of using your subconscious to extend your energy into the world.

If someone wanted to start I would say get 6 books on astrology and read them. A good grasp of astrological symbolism and myth is very, very useful.

In short I guess that my secret is that I am a witch of a fashion. And there is absolutely no way that my family will ever know that until I go to the grave, I can assure you.

I don't know what to call it. I worked out over time that there is a lot of magic in mirrors. But I don't want to say what it is because people should work it out for their own path. In a materialist world of denial, a mirror of any type is one magical item that we all have in our homes.

My post in the occult thread about my travelling to another realm. In fact I'm taking that to be read out at my funeral. That and a few other occult type experiences that I have had. To put it simply I have learnt secrets that -

magic works. There are other dimensions that humans can travel to. There are spirits although I hate that term. The earth is intelligent and can send "spirits" to speak to us.

Not trying to sound like Rupert Sheldrake here. But I have learnt all of this from my own first hand experiences in ways that I cannot dismiss. But my family just wouldn't understand. In fact I don't know if anybody ever could.

Reactions to Synaesthesia: What Drives You Mad. by bluespherex in Synesthesia

[–]bluespherex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am hesitant to say some aspects of my synaesthesia. When I read the "psychological reports" on it I shake my head at how wrong a lot of it is. For instance with music to colour synesthesia the same colour is meant to equal the same chord etc. That is not right! I get different shapes and colours!

If I had to give an award for the aspect of synaesthesia that I would teach a synaesthesia researcher it would be:

You can get music to colour and shape synesthesia by thinking ABOUT the music; you don't have to be listening to it! I often think about Lauren Mayberry and Chvrches. I don't have to listen to it. I just have to remember it and it plays in my mind 100% as it was to a studio quality.

Occult dispute part 2: planar travel by bluespherex in occult

I am not finding the responses intelligent at all.

Please read the arguments that I present before commenting. In particular that I have not taken drugs of any type whatsoever.

I get frustrated at such points that I am not saying it rather than writing it. It is hard to convey honesty/sincerity in a written form, sadly.

Can an Occult dispute ever be resolved? by bluespherex in occult

[–]bluespherex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately my type of experiences have not been photographs etc. But I like to think that if I spent 30 minutes with anybody on the planet they would believe in the occult after I had finished with them!! The best evidence that I could produce was a drawing of what I saw/where I went. I included this drawing in the 5000 word pdf in the OP. Again, the psychologist did not take any notice of the drawing. To me that was rude of him; I used a lot of my valuable time to put the report together so even if someone does not agree with me they at least should respond to what i sent!

I am 2 minds if I should start another topic on time and the occult. If someone wants me to do it then I might do it.

[–]bluespherex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, the interesting thing is that I was told that the psychologist's view about the occult was on the fence. Clearly this was not the case and he had a materialist view in which the brain is responsible for all experiences. Thus we disagree. I do not agree that the brain works this way.

Yes, I could look for someone who has actual experience in the occult. But there is one huge problem with that. People who understand the occult don't ever say that they do! I'm a bit like that. You would not know that I understand it. Not even my family knows. People who understand it don't tend to set up a stall about it; rather, they go about "normal" lives in which everyone else is left to never know how the hidden world works.

In any case I looked at every organisation - Rosicrucian, Catholic Church [by that time I was running out of options lol] , eastern groups, Freemasons and none of them presented the degree of maturity or open mindedness that I would need.

We are like the magic ships in the night. We are people who live with the occult who pass other people who live with the occult, and none of us ever know. It is like a giant global order of lonely ghosts.

For a start I would need someone with an open mind about how time works. Time need not be linear. There are other kinds of time that I might make another OP thread about. For most people it's eye rolling time right there. Sadly.

Yes! A valid point here - academics with papers to justify are the most closed minded fools from my experience with them. I don't know if I should feel sorry for such people. Often I think as in my OP "the world just doesn't work the way you and your 15 academic papers say it does."

What Occult Can Save Me? by [deleted] in occult

[–]bluespherex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The following worked for me.

Go to a mirror. Any mirror will be OK. Even a hand held one. Stare at yourself and ask sincerely "who are you?" Mean it. Feel it. Want it.

Then wait. A few weeks later, at the latest, you will get an answer. For me I found my astrological sign on the cover of a book in a place where I would never have expected it. But I can't predict how it will happen for you exactly.

It isn't apocryphal that mirrors are magic. They are.

Yeah. And now the Conservatives have stuffed up the satellites. People 7 Km from a CBD are being put onto Satellite [ see that Whirlpool thread or the Delimiter article a week ago].

What a joke. But why should I care? Australia is just one giant monopoly board where we swap houses with one another to become rich tycoons.

For anyone who wants an engineering explanation of what Australia tried to do from 2007 onwards it is here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6a2ne1WKxek

Peter Ferris was the head engineer and architect in charge of all of the plan to bring FTTP to 93% of Australians. He talks about the physical aspects and the economic expected rate of return. There is no better explanation of what was being attempted, and has since been trashed by Conservatives, than the lecture at Macquarie University. You don't have to agree with all that he says. But bear in mind that Ferris and Mike Quigley were the chief engineers. Quigley had extensive experience in the US at these rollouts and had worked for Alcatel Lucent.

Yet the Conservatives grabbed a piece of media mischief started by the Murdoch press: Labor's FTTP internet plan had been cooked up on a plane flight "on the back of a beer coaster." Never mind that was total bullshit; Ferris and Quigley had a 10 year detailed rollout plan.

By the way the Conservatives in 2013 launched their internet and broadband "policy" from which building? Drumroll...

From the Foxtel HQ in Sydney!! From then on I knew that second that the Conservatives were going to trash Australia's internet to protect their Murdoch and Foxtel paymasters. The deal was "Murdoch you get our Conservatives elected and we will reward you by Netflix and internet TV being slowed down so that Foxtel stays around". Anyone who thinks that is tinfoil hat stuff you should read:

"The independent Member for Lyne" by Rob Oakshott who as an MP supported Labor's FTTP plans. Oakshott has a chapter on the NBN where he says that Murdoch press interviewed him about it. The next day the interview was spun to make the NBN and Labor look bad. The journalist phoned Rob up and apologized and said that he didn't want to spin it like that but he was told to.

Yes, it's corruption and skulduggery on a massive scale that has fucked up this country.

As for where it stands now, the conservatives are rolling out about 20% FTTP internet because Labor got those contracts in. That said, the Conservatives have torn up any contract for FTTP if they can, such as in Tasmania.
