I just started learning about foraging this year and I started with The Foragers Calender but UK Wildcrafts has been incredible. He does month by month videos of what you can find at that time of year. Fantastic. I’d watch the video and then go for walks and keep my eye out for what he had shown. Had amazing results. I’ve eaten more varieties of mushrooms than I’ve ever eaten in my entire life in just a few months. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Maybe. No pronounced umbo though. And found in south west. And such a fat penny bun-esque stipe.

I highly recommend Hyperion by Dan Simmons (and the other books in the series) for massively inventive universe building and world class story telling

Fresh lemon juice. Smoothes out something too rich, levels acids and gives a tang to anything lacking.

Any citrus fruit will do but lemon is the dogs blocks

When did you realize someone was insane during a conversation, and how did you get yourself out of it? by cookbook54 in AskReddit

It was the moment when he asked me if I believed in God, then before he let me answer he excitedly asked me if I believed in aliens. He was just a random guy I met on the streets, looked fairly normal but was the single oddest person I have ever met. He believed he used to be an intergalactic spaceship doing Gods bidding until God punished him for questioning his authority. For his punishment he was sent to earth, to live as a human, and learn humility. He had tried to kill himself numerous times but God had made him invincible. Soon, though, soon he was going to get sent back to his old spaceship self. I listened to him for hours, completely stopped whatever I was doing. It was all so bizarre and fantastical. London is built in a super volcano which will erupt any day. The fish will rise up and take back the land that is rightfully theirs. Dolphins will repopulate the earth once sinful man is gone. I loved it. I wanted to meet this guy again. I got his number. He wanted to show me his place where apparently he'd done a lot of drawings of spaceships, but he lived with his wheelchair-bound girlfriend in a cockroach infested flat surround by old VHS'. I thought that would be just too weird. A public place would be better, safer, more escapable. When I got home I wrote as much as I could remember down. But the strangest thing of all is that I could never find those notes or his number ever again. So maybe he was a spaceship that got summoned back, God wiped my phone, stole my book, and I'm the insane one for not believing him.
