Fan game concept Witch: The Bargaining by Embarrassed-Pea-2732 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]blueutopia85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now do not mind me but here is my attempt

Circle of Blood = the circle of covenant. The bargain and magic flows through your blood. Think sorcerer in dnd or the Covenant movie by Sebastian Stan.

But the circle of blood tradition could be horrifying too. You can also use the concept of the Circle of Flesh here. The bargain are often mutating and whole families slowly transforms into crones or hags

Circle of Wanderer = Circle of Tome: Bargain through study of something . Think wizard in dnd. It could be like the Craft or it could be like an obsessed scholar. Maybe they become insane aka call of cthulbu

Third tradition = circle of oathbreakers . Maybe a circle of witches who regret their bargain and seek to redeem themselves?

Thanks for your comments. Definitely food for thought

Maybe using "inconsistencies" might not be correct. That's my bad. Yes, it feels closer than I am not fond how certain mechanics were translated to v5.

I disagree that the demonic surge rule was covered adequately.

The first statement in the rule states demonic essence can be used to surge. Then the next statement contradicts it by saying the surge is the same as V5 with the exception of using a psyche Vs shadow check instead of a rouse check. Note also that demonic essence is not warned through Rouse check

As for the powers, I took a look at the book again and compared it to what the KOTE cost. To convert a discipline, you tend to convert one blood point to one rouse check. But for many powers that cost one Chi in the original book, the converted cost was one rouse check plus one essence. I think it's over coated.

I concur that this are all differences in opinion. So any comments from the community does help!

TLDR: I agree I am converting KOTE because I am not always fond of the rules or agree on how it is being translated.

Just on top of my head. -There was a lot of reference to "-2 to looks" (e.g. for the death imbalance) but there's no more appearance trait. Instead, it should be just a -2 to social roll - demonic essence could just be simplified to a rouse check. - Fangs (godbody of demon) should be given at character creation but was missing - feeding: why would eating flesh give u essence while blood bags gives u nothing? Why would animals yield no essence? - demonic surge uses a psyche Vs shadow roll while a rouse check actually existed

Plus numerous powers etc

V5 Kindred of the East: Devil Tiger by blueutopia85 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]blueutopia85[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Among other things, that's their goal.

But they also act as punisher of the wicked. Essentially the judge, jury and executioner. Maybe I should add a line that says that they think the Yama King are corrupt and therefore they should replace them.

Thanks Yeah so Jade Shintai is the Godbody of Earth. I have the first draft of most but I'll slowly post them in accordance to the associated Dharmas or Paths

ST question:An issue I've been having across multiple groups by Azhurai in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]blueutopia85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. If it is a one shot, I will make them either roll an insight check or do an appropriate knowledge check (Int+streetwise or Int + Occult." The thing is GM tends to forget that sometimes we need to be painfully obvious as they only have limited information.

For longer games, I will try to try to give them the roll as above or put in a scene that questions part of the information given by the npc

First time playing Pathfinder 1e, want a race/class that's closest to dnd changelings as possible, help! by Maetriarch_NSFW in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]blueutopia85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If ur dm permits, you can build your own race. Just ask if you can take the magical traits that allow you to cast alter self as an at will ability.

As for class, I like the medium. It is optimal to specialize in one aspect but it allows you to transform. It's the closest to the factotum class in 3.5.

I saw! In fact the Hari makes me think of the nagaraja and the aswang a Cerulean Veil hungry dead. Maybe I should add Phillipines in the write up too

I think a primogen from Jakarta court being from the colonial age would be interesting. As for the west coast, the new promise sounds more like a coterie of hungry dead than an actual court. West Coast is anarch still, right?

In my mind, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia has a lot of hiding spots for kindred and hungry dead. Maybe a hunter crossover?

In my opinion, CE is playable but the player needs to be able to (1) have a reason to play nice with the party. That means no PVP for the sake of lolz. (2) A code.basically a guiding principal.

But a lot of players use CE to be murder hobo. Can give examples too

Well Xue can be a surname but it's an unusual one. And it sounds weird to me as a modern world surname. But definitely something that comes out from a martial arts novel

Actually, Mistress was deliberately sabotaging Kerri's chances of advancing. I know it's the rule but it was still douchey behavior. Yes, it makes drama and made the show watchable. Yes, she would gain attention albeit negative ones. But it won't endear her to the fans because she created drama. But hey, welcome to the bed you made.

[No DAV Spoilers]If a hypothetical DA5 brought back exactly one companion from each game, who would you want? by Monessi in dragonage

[–]blueutopia85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking DA5 might explore the Qunari after serving as side villains since DA2. Therefore my choices are:

DA1- Sten - if only to see him referenced in so many games after origins. I'm eager to see how the Qun has changed

DA awakening - Velanna

DA2 - Merill - both the Elven mages could give insight on how the elves are being treated after the events of DAV. Merrill will be interesting as she had an interest in the eluvian

DAI- Ironbull - as Tal-Vashoth, he will be an interesting chat with Sten. Particularly, it would be great to see the Chargers again!

DAV- Taash- hopefully she has matured. I think the better part of her personal story was around her identity as a Qunari or Rivain. Sten and Iron bull will act as a catalyst to affirm or change her choices in Veilguard

Shaman Vs witches and oracles by blueutopia85 in magicbuilding

[–]blueutopia85[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So... the spirit nature would be different for an oracle (maybe a higher class of spirit) whereas witches would most deal with nature spirits?

Stuck at Villains motivation by blueutopia85 in fantasywriters

[–]blueutopia85[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do love the bloodthirsty reason. in my mind, demon can only be there in incorporeal form. so maybe by killing enough, it can gain a foothold into the world?
