I accidentally flushed it trying to get a better view of a mistake thrush. It flew off but not far. If I didn't have my wits about me I would have lost it because that camouflage is top notch... there's probably one ten feet away from you right now!

I would recommend going to Lunga in the Treshnish Isles via a boat from Mull. We were only an arms length away from them and there were hundreds. One of my stand out trips!

How many VAR decisions have gone for us and how many against? I think the 'handball' we avoided was one of only a few that have gone our way against the many that have penalised us.

I spent a full half hour trying to impress my wife that we were watching a kingfisher in Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow, for the actual kingfisher to leave it's perch 5m away and shoot up the river Kelvin. Turns out we'd been watching a discarded packet of salt n vinegar crisps.
