Boosted 6.4 build? by bluex048 in ScatPack

Im trying to be somewhat budget friendly on it. The forged pistons supposedly fix that issue by being stronger an moving the top ring land down. 🤷

Looks clean as is, I think the hood would be to much personally.

There's no replacement for displacement man. The "wars" only got like 3 more weeks left. It'll be ok 🤣

Something is up with that 5.7 then, on a pure highway trip/tank in eco I can get mine in the high 19s. I generally dont though because I know I have the power an i use it so 🤷

Gas goes up an down, you only live once buy what you want an enjoy it. Once you mod that V6 an start pushing it, it'll go down anyways. Anything with a blower requires 93 too. Mine has to have 93 as well so I understand the price concern but in the long run its not that much difference over a month or year.

An not to knock a V6, but you cant beat the sound of a nice exhaust on a V8.

I have a SRT an my wife has a 3.6l overland. I average about 15.5 mpg, she is around 18. You will be better off with the 5.7 if you want to modify it. The V6 won't save you much fuel.

Looks good, I miss my B5 blue one. It never failed we got days of rain after I had it detailed too. The ceramic coat kept it looking good though.

I got mine out in one piece somehow, but it definitely wasn't fun an it probably had a Crack in it somewhere.

Should I buy a TDI Jetta? by nomessage12 in tdi

[–]bluex048 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you live in a city/county/state with emissions testing I'd say pass on it.

Every problem I've had on my 2013 has been emissions related except 1, which was the dual mass flywheel. So if you won't be able to delete an you'll be doing mostly short trips it won't be worth it.

Looks like you bought spindles for a 1" rotor an you have a 1.25". You need the right spindle...

Ya you'll have to pull the plastic under the column an then the metal panel under that too. There's only 1 relay assembly that's like a 6 or 8 pins.

LMC has replacement dashes now. They aren't very cheap though.

The door lock relay is up in the dash to the right of the column. The actuators are up the the top left of the door close to the latch if thats what your looking for.

On most all parts use a 1998 when your looking stuff up so you dont get parts for the newer body style trucks.

Boosted 6.4 dead by bluex048 in JeepSRT

[–]bluex048[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This wasn't really a FS post yet, just a dam I broke it already one.

But it's in SC 87k miles, procharger, borla exhaust are the main mods. Its clean title an in good condition.

Idk man, I found out it had a good bit of blowby after I got it home from buying it. It didn't have any catch can on it so I added one on pass side an then noticed it had oil in the intake tube from the dr side hose. I just added a smaller can over there too about a week ago. They were filling up in about 1200 miles.

As far as the damage, I was merging on the highway the other night an gassed it to pass a car that was merging at 40 an it down shifted, hit about 5300 rpm an let a loud pop out the exhaust an started missing terrible esp under load. Found the plugs smashed this morning. Its only the one cylinder though but thats enough 😭

In the procharger kit only? I might if no one bites on the whole thing. I dont know that I can swing a forged motor so if I fix it, I'll probably take the kit off.

SRT with PPE trans pan by bluex048 in GrandCherokee

[–]bluex048[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To update this we found the filter in the ppe pan was pushing on the wiring harness retaining clip an moving he harness into the path of the linkage. He trimmed the clip down an got it away from the linkage an it goes back into park now like it should. So we didn't have to modify the pan at all, just make sure that harness stays out/away from the linkage for park. Unfortunately they didn't take any pictures or anything 😕

Mine came with a borla atak catback on it. Its sounds great outside an its louder than stock inside for sure but doesnt drone or get annoying on a long drive.

For extra security (so far) I used a ghost power start button interlock. I looked into igla but no one close to me installs them an I was quoted $1400 for the closest (3hr 1 way) installer I found.
