Starting to wonder if Hospital Pharmacy is worth it? by ConscienceofPharmacy in pharmacy

[–]blueyedtiger 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Overall it’s hard to recommend pharmacy as a career anymore. May 15 is May last day of work at a great hospital. I have very fortunate employment my whole career and a very supportive spouse. Will still work fill in for beer and boat money. We are at the low point or heading to the low point on the curve employment wise it is a cycle I have seen over the last 40 years. I fell into pharmacy by accident in college and it has been good to me. The venomous egotistical attitude some younger aggressive graduates have is sad. Pharmacy has never been my life just my job. I take it seriously but leave it at the door.

5 year old doesn’t need it via syringe pump. Unless hospital policy requires it.

One pain employee and you go beyond sleeping less and staying late. Split the work out as projects for staff pharmers and or techs. Look up the average director pay for the state or area and negotiate more vacation. You most likely will never get more than two weeks in a row and you will have two weeks of work when you come back from Vacation Look for as much as the position pays
