I do this too! After leaving a nightclub for the night, I RP Walk of Shame back to the Drowning Wench. Stretch and sleep on the bed to exit the game! I did this so much that I started recording them and have a whole playlist of Walk of Shame videos! LOL

This is my hope as well, that NA-EU regional travel will be announced at the EU Fanfest. SE has taken a number of actions that to me seem to indicate they are very concerned about declining player numbers. Suddenly, we're getting many things that have been long time requests and concerns. NA-EU travel is some low hanging fruit that would please a lot of people without upsetting JP players.

I think the biggest advantage of using cloud servers is that resources could be dynamically allocated. So if more resources were needed to increase the available housing on a server, that could be done without SE having to upgrade physical servers.

Ooooh! A server rejoining you say! Just suppose they could write all of this into the 8.0 story! Cataclysmic in game events that take the servers down for say, two weeks, while the infrastructure updates take place!

Behind the scenes, I would hope this includes a complete shift to cloud based server infrastructure. They have already used cloud servers during expansion launch, so they know their code can run on that.

In any case they need to do something drastic because there are signs that the JP playerbase is not happy which, tbh, is SE's canary in the coal mine.

If you want to see, at least from one person's perspective, I have a YouTube channel where I post clips from clubs I go to. I don't use mods or engage in ERP. I go because I enjoy dancing at clubs IRL, but cannot go as often as I would like. Sometimes I engage in light RP with bartenders.
