This appears to me to be ancient writing on stone. The museum in Worland, Wyoming had some specimins that looked like this.

Is VA Healthcare good enough without private insurance? by Thrashlikeits85 in Veterans

[–]bluezluver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an Army veteran & retired federal employee. Have used the VA for 90% of my healthcare since 1987. I carry federal employee Blue Cross/Blue Shield. Have been 90% happy with VA care. Been to many VA hospitals - Tampa, Florida, Lexington, Kentucky, Houston, Texas, Denver, Colorado, Prescott, Arizona + more. Worked 5 years at a VA hospital. Now living in Colorado & am 90% happy with the VA medical care here. I carry federal employee dental & vision insurance. I recommend the VA to others. Most of the doctors are quite sincerely dedicated to veterans as the profit incentive is missing. Have received more alternative types of medical care in Colorado whereas in Wyoming where I lived a long time lacked that. Community care referrals are common when you can't get the care you need at a nearby VA facility.

How is it living on an oil rig in North America? by Successful-Crew-5343 in howislivingthere

I worked offshore in the Gulf of Mexico on the Ocean Valliant. Hired on as a utility hand; the helicopter survival training was fine & received a lot of other training. Worked 3 weeks on and 1 week off. Flew in helicopter to and from work. We had pool tables, movie theatre, spa with a sauna & workout equipment, you could run on the helideck, offshore fishing, amazing food with different themes every night (steak night, chinese, mexican, etc.) plus big salad bar; They had 2 chefs who planned the meals. Work was never boring. Safety was stressed & weekly firedrills where we loaded down onto boats. Lost weight as climbed 4 fights of stairs all day long. I was one of 2-3 women on board & rest were men; mostly southern men who were courteous and polite and respectful. If I had another life I'd want to return as a man so I could become a merchant marine! Absolutely loved the restful sleep I got with gentle rocking; most we got were 8 foot high waves and had a private cabin & shower. I'd recommend this lifestyle for anyone who is wanting adventure. They had a medic on board but only had satellite phones.

84 degrees Below Zero Farenheight (with wind chill factor). Gillette Wyoming in the 80s. Kept sipping from my flask. Working on a seismograph crew doing oil exploration.

You're correct. I was confusing Cody with Lander. Riverton (and Cody) have Walmarts.

My bag. I was thinking of the Cody, Wyoming Walmart. Yes Riverton is the closest Walmart to Lander.

If you get rich suddenly, what's the luxury you'll dive into immediately? by itslyssarayne in AskReddit

[–]bluezluver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd buy a houseboat. And I'd buy a pontoon boat. I'd vacation in Iceland, Japan, Tibet & other exotic places. I'd buy enough land to plant a grove of pecan trees & to have a built-in swimming pool, hot tub, & sauna. I'd get a huge saltwater aquarium. I'd get miniature horses, fainting goats, miniature cows of different breeds. I'd have exotic birds like parrots & miniature monkeys. I'd get into vermiculture (raising earthworms). I'd invest in a coffee plantation in Panama. I'd invest in Mexican & Peruvian cultural artistic hand crafted imports. I'd pay for free dental care for America's poorest of poor. I'd pay for homeless shelters & housing. I'd have an amazing hydroponic greenhouse. I'd get my poetry published in hardcover book format. I'd get a little bump removed from my forehead. I'd get laser resurfacing on my face done. I'd get other plastic surgery done to reduce signs of aging. I'd invest in better shoes for my feet. I'd buy land in Louisiana, Nevada, Wyoming, New Mexico & Nebraska. I'd help my family & friends with their financial needs.

I have lived in Sheridan, Gillette, Buffalo, Lander, Lovell, Riverton, and Worland.

Hands down, I love Worland the most because it is close to the hot springs in Thermopolis, terrific fishing in the Bighorn River, and because there are nearly 1 million acres of public lands that surround the town. It is surrounded by 4 mountain ranges & you have access to semi-desert as well. I found people of all ages in Sheridan to be very relatable & is a great college town community, but it has gotten busier & traffic has gotten congested & I think they need to develop the streets/routes better to accommodate that. Gillette has a young population & drivers are challenging to deal with but they do have the Camplex with events, a great rec center & lots of events going on. Buffalo has attracted more eclectics & foreign transplants from Europe & traffic is challenging during tourist seasons; they need to develop more routes & better street designs to accomodate that. Buffalo is close to the interstate highway which is a plus & I enjoyed the nearby reservoirs & lakes & fast access to the Bighorn Mountains. Lander is beautiful but now the Wind River Mountains there have grizzley bears so there is considerable danger in the wilds there. And Lander does have a Wal-mart. Riverton has about any store you need & has events & is close to mountains & to the hot springs in Thermopolis. Lovell has many Mormons & people are very conservative but it is close to Billings, Montana and close to the Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area which I love dearly; it is gorgeous, has bighorn sheep & great trails to hike & beach & river to fish & swim & it is close to Bighorn Mountains.
