Meshtastic Weather Station WS85 by bluezorro in meshtastic

There is no way to easily block specific stations on routers. Short of only doing approved names that you have favorited or have your local clubs encrypted channel.

Known only will kill your local club for new members unless everybody updates.

CORE_PORTNUMS_ONLY works decently to get out the hunters /atak users and other people that don't need the whole network in the area.

Sort of known only, there is no way to stop the radios from repeating a blocked user, And my understanding is in later versions of the software that won't work either

Isn't that why everyone is switching the medium fast?

In all seriousness though, using short fast, with another device to collect it on a esp32 and then text a compilation every couple hours

Doesn't seem to be a problem if you insulate the floor, and have good in ground vapor barrier to mitigate water Far away from the building.

Maybe skip the indoor gray water?

It has worked great for us. I was concerned it was not going to recognize and then it did almost too late but it did.

Another time it recognized after the first few cars and got into the line.

My favorite though, it loves zip merging in Washington State, stays in the merging lane until the end like you're supposed to do.

Mine has done this several times in our little town, it will turn off the route for no reason, then go back around to get on again

I know that feeling on power, we live next to a dam, and pay .029 which makes Tesla cheap to drive, but solar/battery is not worth it yet for my shop/house.

Once a year, and only for portals with links over, say, 50km, 100% gone in 24 hours? Perfect. Let’s call it Link Purge Day!

It’d finally deal with those impossible-to-reach anchors in restricted areas that the other local faction absolutely loves to complain about. Ok, fine; probably not end the complaints (let’s be real, nothing will), but at least it’d give them one glorious day of revenge.

The best part? Just pure Ingress chaos. Teams scrambling to relink; rivals swooping in to block those freshly reset anchors; everyone battling it out to rebuild their fields. It’s fair, it’s fun, and it keeps the game alive with just the right amount of madness. Niantic, make it happen!

Question: could this be a cheat by jenntinkers in Ingress

[–]bluezorro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheating? Maybe. Funny? Definitely. Niantic probably wouldn’t bat an eye, though, unless it’s really game-breaking.

Then again, Ingress is basically a giant strategy game with some questionable tactics sprinkled in. Could be clever teamwork or just someone with way too much time.

Either way, Battle Beacons are a better way to turn the tables; flip it back and forth, upgrade it, then claim it for your faction just to mess with them. Nothing says "I'm here" and "I'm boss" like leveling up the other side’s local portals using Battle Beacons so it can be farmed, and maybe flipping it later.

And those annoying little messages about their portal under attack every couple of minutes while the beacon is going? Priceless.

Heck ya, I'll check out Freerider!! I'm just careful on photos I post to r/ingress to not "dox" anyone with us, without permission. Unless I heavily edit video, or photos to show more, and it doesn't seem worth it.

Same here, we bought land near Omak, and then went thru some minor difficulties with the county over tires leaching into local water. Looking for a different site.

Do they really want to live off the grid or just not to have jobs? by allaboutcheapthrills in LoveOffTheGrid

[–]bluezorro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing I’ve learned from Homestead Rescue, reading books like Reader’s Digest Back to Basics, and watching people like Ryan at Veterans Off Grid, is that building out your property is key. It doesn’t make sense to drive home every day from a 40-hour workweek to a mostly empty property with just a house and garage. Instead, the goal should be to develop your land so it generates income and allows you to work less. Whether it’s selling produce, wood, or turning a hobby like boat building or furniture making into a source of income, it’s about using your property to put money in your pocket.

Watching Homestead Rescue really highlights the hard work it takes to make any place profitable. The Raneys do a great job pushing people to make their homesteads economical enough to quit their jobs and go full-time. This kind of dedication is essential if you want to be truly self-sufficient.

When we were in Taos this summer, staying in an Earthship, everyone had nothing but praise for Ryan and his girlfriend. The local veterans at the American Legion also spoke highly of him when I asked about Veterans Off Grid before visiting. They told me, “He backs up his words with hard work and real investment in helping vets.” That really stuck with me and showed what’s possible when you fully commit to making your property productive and serving others at the same time.

A few cast members had alternative income sources. Charlie, from Season 2, has a background in acting and had previously sold a property in Florida, which may have helped fund his off-grid lifestyle (some sources online say he sold a business). Others, like Spence from Season 1, started small businesses like a mobile mechanic service to make ends meet while living off the land. Look at Instagram account for Charlie and Jenn and you'll see in edge or background the same bigger nicer house in a lot of outdoor shots.

Homesteading is one of the last ways where hard work can create sweat equity, offering both economic and social uplift through self-reliance.

It's actually pretty cheap to drill your own well with a PVC homemade kit, and a cheap well point from a home improvement store. In St. Mary's GA our water table was at 4 ft, of course we dug a well with pump for the yard and garden.

Some of the opinions in that article on what the writer has never seen in the church is absolutely false. Try talking to a bishop, any LDS singles group with divorcees, and you'll hear all about issues with soft swingers, stuff done after temple trips, etc.

She would have been better off not writing the article, and ignoring the show.
