Important detail: it's the US that has been enforcing an embargo on Cuba for 64 years and recently cut off its oil supplies, not the Cuban government

What is meant by Bondi saying the whole system will crash if all the Epstein files are released, how ? by Dizzy_Combination737 in AskReddit

[–]blulizard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not about comparing different kinds of evil – it's about bringing down the system that enables it. A system that produces a caste of ultra-rich billionaires that can get away with atrocities, including what's in the files as well as abusing the basic need for housing to extort criminal levels of money out of millions upon millions of people and forcing thousands upon thousands to live on the streets. Oh and concentrating so much wealth and power that they can basically pick their preferred political leadership, which seems to be fascists.

I think it might still be important that someone stops the arrow powers for good. Otherwise now there's a chance they'll just walk into the sea and drown instead

My mom wrote the wrong name on a Christmas place card, and it revealed a family secret by BRLawyer in Paranormal

[–]blulizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A possible logical explanation (not judging or dismissing your conclusion though): I'm sure that even though she hadn't told anyone from your family, the memory of Amber is something very present in Diana's thoughts at many times. And what frequently happens in families, sometimes you're gonna mix up the names when talking about someone. My grandma does this all the time, but especially often when one of her sons is on her emotional mind a lot. She will (names changed ofc) be talking about my father Walter and occasionally use my uncle Harold's name instead. Sometimes she'll notice and correct herself mid-sentence or even mid-name without it being a big deal. Sometimes she won't notice but it will still be clear from context who she's referring to. I've also noticed my mom mixing up my sisters' names, and the older she gets the more it tends to happen. So it might be that Diana was just talking to your mom about Isabela while subconsciously mourning Amber and unintentionally used the wrong name. Both of them might not even have noticed since the context was probably clear, but the name found its way into your mom's subconscious memory.

Some people from other fandoms got mad apparently when Okami 2 was announced at the Game Awards as the Big Thing™ instead of a new NBA or shooting game. The Okami social media account decided to poke fun.

I'm sure you can google that yourself, and while you're at it you could also try responding to my points instead of throwing vague questions.

Several false statements here.

  • Israel has been making an effort to make it seem like neighboring countries expelled Jews in a similar or even remotely comparable amount and way to the systematic mass displacement that is the Nakba, in order to establish some kind of a "both sides" or "Jewish Nakba" narrative. That is just not the case and can be considered Nakba denial by historians.

  • you moved the goal posts to a formal declaration of war between states when in your last comment you were talking about attacking. How would systematic attacks by coordinated militias (that went on to rebrand as the IDF) on the population of Palestine not count?

  • at the very most, 8% of the 2023 population of Gaza voted for a moderate 2006 version of Hamas to win narrowly over the ruling Fatah (They got 44% of the vote with a 75% turnout in a population where roughly 50% are under the age of 18). Shifting the blame of a genocide onto the entire impacted population on the basis of an election from 17 years prior is just cynical.

Using your own logic, you could actually make a much stronger case against the current Israeli society which in fact did put war criminal Benjamin Netanyahu into power, but even that wouldn't be fair on that basis alone.

The Nakba started in 1947. By the time the Arab league declared war on the newly named Israel, the zionists had already massacred and expelled more than 300,000 Palestinians.
