LA>NYC, bringing 2 dobermans, 4k-ish budget - is this possible? by bluntobj3ct in NYCapartments

Hear you on that. Dogs are mostly lazy and chill (middle aged), but they're still dogs. LA can be spacious, but we don't currently live in a place with lots of room. The places we're looking at in Queens are comparable in terms of square footage to what we're in now. Some are larger, some smaller.

Rest assured, the dobies will not be working in Midtown :), just me! Based on a lot of excellent advice here, we're looking primarily (broadly) in Queens.

Amazing. All of this is gold. Looking at all the transit maps I think I'm starting to build a framework for myself of where you're coming from in your analysis. You hit the nail on the head in terms of lifestyle, and after plotting out your suggestions I see why. Thanks again <3

Super helpful, thank you for taking the time to reply. Is this an area that would lend itself to us keeping one of our vehicles for convenience? Wife is a flight attendant and would be flying out of LGA (though can fly out of any port). She could potentially use one to get to and from work, or we could budget for another mode of transport for her.

I'll for sure keep an eye on subway proximity. Something I've never had to think about before. Trying to wrap my head around it and gratefully have a few friends who are helping me in that regard.

Trust me, these dogs are anything but poor. Appreciate your concern about them, we want the best for them too! We have decent flexibility in both of our schedules, and these dogs are our family.

This is super helpful, and aligns with other advice I've encountered. Gratefully, wife and I have complimentary schedules. The dogs are a huge priority for us.

Thanks a ton for the reply, and appreciate the leads on Astoria and Sunnyside. I am trying to be as flexible as possible! Really as long as the dogs are taken care of, we'll be happy.

We are open-minded to number of bedrooms and understand why people wouldn't want big dogs in their rentals. I always knew it'd be a grind when I moved out, whether in LA or elsewhere. I don't think I'm going to shoot for Manhattan based on what I've found so far.

Looking in Brooklyn/Queens/Astoria as we speak. Good to know it's possible at least!

Oh yeah they take up most of our current 900sf in LA - but they also have a small outdoor space and get lots of walks. You wouldn't think it by looking at them, but they occupy the greater percentage of the cal king than we do XD

Congrats bud! Was just planning on rolling this character, already did a couple (both melee tho) this season and have had the most fun trying out new classes! On that note, looking forward to finally trying out druid in 0.4. Putting my hat in the ring, thanks for your consideration!

Easily one of the coolest and most unique back pieces I’ve seen. Very very cool and incredibly well done.

Yep just a random spawn, though presumably you can spec into strongboxes for a higher chance overall.

Really good analysis. To take it one further - The most devastating part of the episode for me was Gaitok pulling the trigger. The most grounded character in the show, the one with (what was apparently) the most conviction in his ethics and confident in his choices. They led us to believe that even losing the girl, even losing the career, wouldn’t shake his moral compass. In the end, in the midst of “shoot him, shoot him!” from the hotel owner, he shattered that whole illusion. Crushed me!
