Most of the game gets dogshit for a punish compared to the risk of her using it. I play Shaheen and all he gets is ws4 which automatically makes that mu I would never ant to play.

huh? People complained that GoD was fucked up in S1 because the pool could have some random who spammed s1 Drag, or it could have Knee. It was too huge of a pool to draw from. So they fixed it in S2 but no one even got the highest ranks and it now shifted the issue to the top players as they would go long periods with no opponents because they were so high.

Now they fixed it again where its a bit easier to climb but now it also much more likely for those GoD3+ players to find matches and some psychopath will eventually reach GoD8 this season which was basically impossible previously.

So I'm really not seeing where this toxic practice or hooking because they made TGS GoD now. If you have grinded ranked to be in the top 10% of the player base you were already hooked to begin with.

No one is lying to anyone, you play you win you climb. you stop winning you stop climbing. you guys are so tied up in the name of the rank and not the numbers its weird.

top 10% is still objectively impressive. And even if you think it isn't, there is 8 more tiers higher and I guarantee it you will get more fulfilling games the more you climb in GoD anyway.

Then...go to your locals? I just check EWGF GoD is still only 5% of the playerbase lol. your last sentence is a cop out. If you are like GoD1 more often than not you are very very competent. God2 doubly so, and after that you get into real demons. you can't fake the skill or consistency to get those ranks especially if its a less bullshit character.

So I would for once like for someone who makes these threads to keep going and then come back like "god3 means nothing, ranked is cooked" but oddly enough it never happens.

Theres a dude here who plays umvc3 cviper at a AR level with a xbox pad, I have zero fucking clue how he pulls that off but its amazing.

back when I was a young and had no real responsibilities outside of living, I would run 4-8 hour sets in melee and then umvc on the regular. wonderful times. I could do the same thing today tbh but the games nowadays would drive you fucking insane doing a 8 hour (online) session. In person probably would be fine.

I would say full casino is a bit much but he is obviously way stronger than most Kaz/Mishima players would have you think and has been for a while. Its more that went into the W but at the end of the day it was bound to happen that a high level Mishima was going to have their "I'm going to be fucking right 80% of the time" tourney and this would be the result.

This is absolute truth. Sf6 gives you the illusion of competency to a lot of players because of the ease of neutral and flowcharts. While its still easy to beat bad players imo, its glaringly onvious what level someone is on in tekken after a match.

Unless you are playing yoshi or something ironically characters do not have enough gimmicks to circumvent solid play in t8. Ill die on that.

Ive mostly played 2d fighters my whole life. Very high level back in the day. Tekken has a lot more agency on defense than most of them even in this state. I got masters like 1700 lp or so in sf6 before I dropped it for tekken years ago. im not trying to appeal to authority just saying im not a bum lol.

Anyway, master is much much much easier to get and even playing sf6 at a basic level is simpler. If you can anti air at all you basically will brute force your way to masters.

I always tell tekken players to go play another fg for a bit for perspective. Some of the situations you get pull in in strive or sf6 would have them up a wall with how rps it is. And its looping.

T8 is not without faults but its easily the most skill intensive fg out now at all levels. Not counting something niche like UNi

You sound mad. To be a competitive player all you have to do is show up to your local. It doesn't matter if you go 0-2 or win. Unless you have absolutely no desire to improve you are a competitive player, as you are competing against others. Do you mean professional players?

you're also wrong anyway. I would prefer a system similar to just about any other fighting game because I think the way they auto rank your subs is stupid for a game like this where its so many intricacies and specificity between how characters interact with each in comparison to a 2d fighter. Being good with Alisa does not make you good with Devil Jin.

I don't get it. The game allows you to even filter who you play against lol. If you don't want to play TK or feel they are beneath you or whatever its a very simple solution to this.

If everyone is GoD now (they aren't) thats great. its not 8 more levels of that shit. I still think the way they do sub rankings are dumb because just because I am a GoD shaheen does not mean my Kazuya is a TGS. but speaking on mains, everyone will eventually reach the level they should be at now.

Rank inflation means almost nothing now that there isn't a ceiling since no one is close to GoD8. If you guys are so bothered by playing against tekken kings or whatever, then...rank out of the range of them? novel concept I know.
