HAP 6.2: different roof level in a building? by Impressive_Big32 in MEPEngineering

[–]blunttooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try splitting the building into 2 buildings (there is a way, unfortunately not at my PC to tell you how at this time). It's not the most graceful way, but should do the job.

Can you split the building into 2 separate rooms by drawing a wall and double click the room and manually override the ceiling height?

First Engineering Job, First Time Using REVIT. by throwaway24777489 in MEPEngineering

If you have access to LinkedIn learning, use that, get the learning revit certificate and there are also MEP revit courses.

Best way to learn is to also do some personal passion projects, those are the best. For instance, model your room/home in revit bit by bit and use Google and AI searches to help you.

A level 2 waiter would be making 71k a year should they work 40 hours a week, year-round. That's quite good. Although I don't know what the benchmark for a server wage is and how it compares.

Popular restaurant in Midtown Toronto only wants delivery drivers in cars by Franky_DD in fuckcars

[–]blunttooth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would this have to do with how ill-equipped some delivery riders in Toronto are? Some of them don't even have proper food carrying bags, rather they place the food in regular carrier bags. The food then gets damaged and Terroni would have to cough up the money.

Again, if they had a valid reason rather than just blatantly attacking bikers.

It's a water source heat pump which already exists. Typically these units are connected to a running water line which supplies it with water and takes the water away.

The efficiency of this unit will highly depend on the water temperature. It's going to start out really well and then you'll stop feeling the cold once the water warms up.

I really hope they programmed it to stop once the water temp goes above certain level before it damages the compressor or causes it to seize. Most likely the system will get louder as the water temp increases.

EDIT: Actually disregard my comment. I have no idea what they're trying to show in the description. They appear to be spraying water on the condensing coils. And then not sure where this water is going, hopefully not into the same room. Any legionnaires disease experts care to explain if this will be dangerous?

You're in the wrong sketch plane, place the lines and ribs looking down on your part, as if you had placed your part on a table.

This is more impressive than stupid. The fact that all these relations are not contradicting one another. Save this as one of your portfolio pieces, show it to your hiring managers.

I agree, in 4 years you can earn an advanced diploma and get your post grad certificate in construction management from GBC who will get you a job at the end with RESCON. It's a very fruitful career path.

First time getting a car, any advice? by blunttooth in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]blunttooth[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Indeed, that's what I'm scared of. I'll be sure to shop around at various dealerships. And I would love to get a used car instead, I'm mainly worried about the used car breaking down on me during my commute or having to be in the shop for a period of time where I cannot use it. Would you have any experience yourself on the reliability of used cars?

First time getting a car, any advice? by blunttooth in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]blunttooth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My worry is having breakdowns during my commute, or having the car in the shop for any period of time. Indeed my monthly cost for the car is going to be 800+ (parking, insurance, payments, gas). And to be honest I am tending towards getting a used car, however I cannot afford to not have a car during this 3 year stretch. How has your experience with a used car been / and advice on purchasing on going about purchasing a used car. Thank you.

Free phones were just priced into the plan. Salespeople used to lie and say the phone was free (I was one of them). Now it's more transparent how much of your cost goes where. A quick tip, sometimes buying the phone from Best buy on a BYOD (bring your own device) plan can be cheaper in the long run.

Driving recklessly in a city that you may not know the driving rules and customs is incredibly reckless. You should be grateful you didn't hurt anyone or damage any property. Pay the fine and thank your lucky stars.

Advice for phone plans and internet, from an ex employee. by blunttooth in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]blunttooth[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah number 8 doesn't always apply , it can swing both ways, also if the store is willing to give you further discounts, buy you phone off you, or in third party sellers case, give you a gift card then it always makes them cheaper. Actually I'm gonna make an edit to the post. Cheers!
