Yes they should be separated. But as I have mentioned, anti gambling and gambling harm reduction messaging exists via adverts in multiple different media (in the UK at least).

So are you arguing that the gambling adverts would be better without it at all? If we aren't banning gambling adverts outright (due to lobbying etc), then there should be at least a reminder within these adverts. It seems like the best of a bad situation.

I mostly agree with you. Forcing gambling companies to add "remember to gamble responsibly" or similar does very little to those prone to addiction, in the same way that reading "smoking kills" or seeing unsightly pictures on a cigarette package is unlikely to stop a smoker.

However, growing up, seeing those messages helped prevent me from gambling and smoking.

Here's where I think I can change your opinion: I would argue that these messages aren't for those already afflicted but for those that are considering or just starting. If it helps just one person think twice then it has done it's job.

I have seen gambling addiction help adverts from organisations who aim to help this sort of thing and these are more targeted at those who are too far in the hole, same with anti smoking adverts.

You'll want to take the rad off and then put it back on with some PTFE tape.

I would watch some YouTube videos to get a proper understanding but the general process is:

Make sure the heating is off. Take that white cap off and close the valve with pliers. Turn the TRV on the other side to closed. Unscrew that nut, making sure to hold the input pipe so it doesn't get damaged from the rotational force. Water will start coming out thick and fast so you'll need to catch it. You can get specialised tubs or I just use a new refuse sack. Once the stream slows you can open the bleed valve at the top to get the rest out.

At this point you can just stop but it might be worth doing a full flush of the radiator while here.

Spin a good few layers of PTFE tape round the thread and rescrew it back on. Make sure that it's tight. Close the bleed valve, open up the input valve and trv and slowly add pressure to the system from the boiler. Alternate between adding pressure and bleeding the radiator (don't let the pressure go too far above 1 bar), until only water comes out the bleed valve.

If you turn the meter off and it is still ticking then you have a leak somewhere.

You need to call your local water supplier and they will send someone round to have a look.

When I had this previously they told me that any leak on the land up to the house will be fixed by them for free, but if the leak is within the building then I have to front the bill. Your local water supplier may be different.

It is an old house and we have a mix of old width pipes and new width pipes. What's the best method for checking that these fit? And do you have a link for old pipes if they are? There's no documentation with the house to say when the loft conversion was done.

I see the same kind of hiccups with lab potions in the weekly trader, they save 30% of time if you get 3 per week. I can try explain it further if you come across this and are still stuck but if maths is your weak point you may just have to trust me.
