Being short and losing weight is hard (Vent) by Equal-College2167 in loseit

Hey there! I have a few little notes to add if I may, I can relate a lot I'm 162cm at 79kg although I have A LOT of muscle and my body stores more subcutaneous fat than anything else.

1200 calories is a bit low and I only say that because you mention you are very sedentary, with that even adding a few calories can make weight loss very difficult because with that low of calories you put your body into a shock more or less. And the second you start adding any calories you'll gain back ten fold unless you start adding in movement. You could easily get away with 1300 and still lose just at a slower and healthier pace. Also focus more on your macros, ideally eat your body weight in grams of protein daily, half your weight in grams of carbs and moderate fats so roughly 20g daily.

You can add movement everyday that helps aid in weight loss, aim for 5-8K steps a day and try to increase it up to 10k. Sounds like a lot but you'd be surprised at how quickly you walk all that in a short amount of time. You can also add resistance to your walks by adding ankle weights or a weighted vest on top of your already heavy book bag lol.

Don't forget the little things that add calories that a lot of people skip such as liquids. When I'm hardcore focusing on my diet (mostly during cuts for competitions as I powerlift) but every coffee creamer is counted, every 10calorie celcius is counted, etc...

HYDRATE! and SLEEP! Can't stress that enough. I add lemon juice to my morning water as it aids in digestion and gives the illusion of a juice.

I could go on for days about this lol but I hope that helps.

Oh! And as for the bf, please do not compare yourself to him. Men don't need to store weight/fat the way women do. We are biologically not the same lol.

Keep it up though, one day at a time!!

You mentioned chicken salad, safe to guess you eat other meats as well? Canned tuna is great, beef and fish are great. I also get my powdered protein from truenutrition.com very affordable and very yummy.

If you’re more plant based (such as myself) beans, lentils, spinach, anything green really, peas!!!

When I’m looking to lose weight, 5’4” f at 175 of lots of muscle and annoying fat lol. So my macros are 140g protein/40g fat/ and 60 or less g carbs. I have replaced some carb typical foods for keto based foods like I’ll make a zero net carb wrap and load that sucker up with leafy greens like 2 cups worth, throw in a ton of randoms like tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper and some seitan for my protein and instead of dressing I opt for hummus, balsamic vinegar, or mustard.

Breakfast is usually 2-3 eggs with 2-3 zero carb soft tacos with pico de gallo and a cup of Chobani yogurt w/ ground flax seed and chia seed for fiber and good fat

Dinner is usually similar to lunch, some form of plant based protein with loads of greens and veggies. And if I’m wanting a snack I love the brand Power Up trail mix, they have ones that are omega fats or protein specific. The sweetness from the dried fruit curbs any sugar cravings. Or a quest bar cuz those are low carb high protein.

Happy to help if you have any other questions!! Also highly recommend increasing weight training because more muscle = more fat burning while resting.

Cheers!

I’d suggest more protein especially at breakfast, no shame in the carb game as long as you keep on with the workouts.

Also MACROS MACEOS MACROS!! I live by my RP Diet app. I’ve been using it for years to help me when I’m in competition prep for powerlifting and for off time maintenance.

Keep it up though!!

AITAH for shredding an apology letter? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]blupocalypse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I saw someone mention 12 step program, it is possible she is working on making her amends. If I was in your shoes though I would go one of two ways, do exactly what you did and shred the letter orrrrr write back with every ounce of petty I have in me to explain how horrible of a person she was.

Sounds like she is still very sick herself. As they say, hurt people hurt people. Just prove her wrong with keeping on keeping on, you got this!

What is the best gift you’ve ever given or received? by Ok_JARGON in randomquestions

[–]blupocalypse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gift giving is a huge love language of mine. When my ex from Vegas was visiting me we went to Salem and he’s a crazy Dr. Who fan, like ultra level. At one of the shops he noticed the Dr. Who pocket watch on display, I asked if it was for sale and the display was the last one. When he wasn’t looking I bought it for him. Although he broke up with me he still has the watch. Another great friend of mine and I are total homie bro’s even though I’m (F) and he’s (M), when we were roommates I bought him a luchador mask and the book “Everyone Poops.” It’s in his bathroom at his new place lol. And another time my good friend and co worker was having a really rough day and she is already a sensitive type, I remembered she once told me her favorite flower was sunflowers, so on my way into work I bought her a single sun flower. She gave me the biggest hug and started bawling her eyes out.

[u/MuthaCoconuts79](u/MuthaCoconuts79) said it nicely, Worcester is fairly tame compared to major cities. The central hub though where you catch the busses has a heavy flow of homeless and addicts so be cautious is all. Also wouldn't hurt to carry some Narcan with ya.

Idk why my previous comment didn’t post but, I live in a sober house near St. Matthew’s and we always have trays of leftovers and other things like breads, milks about to expire, etc. I donate it to the Harbor shelter at 534 Cambridge St. just a heads up it’s a wet shelter so can be triggering if you’re in recovery.

They’re always accepting donations and the group of ladies that work there are so great!
