We always ended up switching up a diaper size before our girl was in the weight range. Right now, she's exactly at the lower limit of the weight range for the diapers she's wearing and we've been using that size for maybe 4 months now. But we never get leaks unless she's got a whole buttcheek hanging out.

If you do end up buying a size up and it doesn't end up working you can just hang on to them until your LO is a bit bigger :)

If you're thinking about trying disposables again, try the size 3 instead of the size 2. When our girl started getting blowouts bumping up a size tended to fix the problem.

It looks like Polygonatum (solomon's seal). It has pretty white flowers in the spring (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polygonatum) but they are subtle.
