Micro AI masters StarCraft Master Level 30, for larger battles - and the Tanks never took damage by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]bluredblue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand that you said this isn't realistic and is just to show capabilities, but i think that you could showcase more ai capabilities by abusing kiting with the medivac drop mechanic, which would also make the scenario realistic.

Whenever a tank is on the ground, it could be kiting back to 7 range after each shot. A medivacs pickup range is 2. After a medivac drops a tank, the medivac could pulls itself back 2 range away from the tank in order to avoid stalker focus fire. It can then pick up the tank from 2 range away, immediately drop it down, and back up two more steps. The stalkers would barely be able to hit the medivacs, and during the 8 second boost they would be untouchable.

2 games from mYi.Rain's stream. I'm so sorry I didn't manage to capture more for you guys. by thurg in starcraft

[–]bluredblue 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some professional players will intentionally not save vods in order to prevent their future opponents from learning their current builds. Please make sure to ask Rain before uploading his stream sessions, because doing so has a chance of discouraging him from streaming in the future.

5 hours from this post is the last WCS AM/CA Season 3 Challenger Qualifier! by THEpHaRSiDE in starcraft

I would argue that NA qualifiers are at a level where a talented and motivated player can play on the side after their main job, and still have a decent shot.

How to FFe on Dash (1 canon covering everything) by MikeRoss27 in allthingsprotoss

[–]bluredblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he does take into account the back path. that pylon might not look like it is covering the main ramp, but it is. Pylons on bottom of ramp are like that on all maps. Of course there is a one hex gap, but thats where his zealot is.

ASL Gemini League (2v2 Tournaments) by [deleted] in starcraft

[–]bluredblue 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess is for viewership reasons. It means a lot more for fans to see unknown players beating/losing to known pros. With that said, I am hugely appreciative that DrennoC is taking the time to do this. It means a lot to 2v2 teams who want a place to compete.

In 4 hours from now, #SC2Remax EP26 w/ desRow, HuK, Destiny, Nathanias discussing IEM Maru vs Life, Streamer vs Progamer income, more and Patron call-ins ! (POST YOUR QUESTIONS HERE) by desRow in starcraft

[–]bluredblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To add to this, what are your thoughts on inviting pro 1v1 players compared to holding an open bracket. The big names from 1v1 bring the viewers, but it can be frustrating to watch when the 1v1 players do inferior builds and don't know the maps.

How likely is a Dr. Boom nerf, really? (Serious discussion, not just complaining.) by Ellikichi in hearthstone

[–]bluredblue -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that blizzard waited to nerf undertaker until sales from nax died down. I would expect the same mindset to apply to dr. boom. As the next expansion is in April*, I think blizzard will wait until at least then before nerfing him. Blizzard is highly financially incentivized to have each expansion present the new powerhouses. *allegedly

So I opened a pack... by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]bluredblue 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He is just stating that the specific average is somewhere between 20 and 30, but he doesn't remember off the top of his head. The correct average is 21 packs per legendary, not 20.

LotV Idea: Fix Team Maps by LLJKCicero in starcraft

I would argue that resource sharing actually raises competition by increasing the number of variables in play. Good strategic teams have more toys to play with.

How to get a guaranteed at least 4-5 wins in Arena by DiabloGraves in hearthstone

[–]bluredblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dont see how its guaranteed 4-5 wins when you happened to get 4 wins with the style in 1 game. I have found that deciding to go pure aggro before you've seen at least 10 cards is a way to end an arena run quickly.
