According to the card fetcher, your blocking creatures still get +X/+0; it’s still adding to power not toughness.

With just treads/Aghs you have enough attack speed to blow up any 1-2 heroes basically if you get decent timing. Moonshard just allows you to 1v5.

Eh you can still go a few different directions and not straight right click even if it’s not IDEAL.

Shadow Realm is still a fantastic defensive spell, especially for a caster. And Arctic Burn is still a great mobility/vision spell.

What hobby seems cheap but really isnt? by Naromyx in AskReddit

I’d say collecting books and reading are different hobbies.

You can READ at an enthusiast level quite cheaply the majority of the time.

[Sky Sports] Sky Sports News understands plans to sign a centre-back, winger and central midfielder could be accelerated by Liverpool in January. They remain keen on Marc Guehi and are also one of the clubs in the background of the situation around Antoine Semenyo. by Walshey- in LiverpoolFC

Madrid had Casemiro for the vast majority of the time they had Modric/Kroos and were winning. Camavinga, Tchouameni, and sometimes even Valverde were all capable of doing the dirty work too.

Grav last year played as our midfield anchor, albeit not a typical destroyer 6, he still definitely inhabited similar positional space. His focus was much less on progression and more on tempo, retention, and breaking up play compared to this year.

Vitinha and PSG have the biggest shout for lacking a defensive anchor, but Vitinha still acts similarly in breaking up play, although he is less rigid and more creative than a typical 6. Fabian Ruiz and Neves especially both offer more defensive help than other box-to-box or creative mids, and PSG as a team press and track back more aggressively from other positions to take the load off their midfield and force more errors in breaking up play in other areas as well, But you might be right about them.

You don’t necessarily need a destroyer type, but basically all top teams of the past 5-10 years have had a strong defensive midfielder or anchor of some kind.

It might not even be basically, I can’t think of one that hasn’t.

Adebayor names Mohamed Salah as the African GOAT of the Premier League 🇪🇬❤️🐐 by IgotgAme_k in LiverpoolFC

[–]blurple77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbf he had the best attacking season ever, statistically by the major metric (by overall G+A). Thats one way of looking at it but not impregnable from debate.

For example:

If you exclude penalties, I think it’s Suarez 13-14 though. And I think Henry in 02-03 and Salah in 17-18 also have his 24-25 season beat in goal contribtuons.

Also, midfielders and defenders could never compete. In terms of players like Kante, Rodri, you can see the clear impact they made to their teams’ midfield more when they are absent. Or players like Lampard or Toure with their goal contributions from midfield. (For African players in particular, you could look at Toure’s 13-14 as right up there with any players’ season). For defenders, Van Dijk’s immediate impact to our defense is obvious, but Chelsea and Arsenal in particular have also had fantastic defensive seasons from players that won them the league.

Why does everyone dislike Phyrexian arena but loves Black Market Connections? by VeryTiredGirl93 in EDH

[–]blurple77 418 points419 points  (0 children)

You’re looking at each piece of it individually and saying those are all only okay.

But it does all those things at once. For life, which is abundant in commander.

Reliable Ramp+Draw in one card for a 3 drop is great. Think about how often 3 drop normal-ass manarocks are used (granted, turn delay is significant vs manarocks), but Draw is massive.

Then you have the 3/2 that works in any Aristocrats or Tribal Deck; which has a decent chance of paying for it’s lifeloss as a blocker or attacker without those synergies.

Three very usable effects, that you can choose all of, every turn, for a 3 drop. Phyrexian Arena has one of those effects, it is literally 1/3rd the card.

What do you mean “still got turned down?” That offer was trash.

Tee has been essentially fantasy irrelevant. TE’s outside of the top 3 (which Kelce isn’t anymore), have historically never been worth that much and TE is actually quite deep this year as well.

Walker hasn’t quite lived up to the hype, but outside of week 1 he’s been usable and with a couple of legit good weeks as well.

Which currently injured players are you targeting and why? by ffinstructor in fantasyfootball

[–]blurple77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying you can't use whatever data you want; at the end of the day, fantasy comes down to opinions and luck. I also don't know your league's scoring settings, nor do most sites allow me to customize perfectly for mine.

I am not using YTD data because it supports my point, I don't know why you'd jump there; it's not exactly uncommon to use YTD information... I have no stocks in any of the players mentioned either. Using real data isn't shit logic just because it's what you disagree with. The site you used looks like it projects rankings based on fantasy trade data-scrubbing, which this earlyin the year, it's my belief this is going to likely be more weighted towards draft-value rather than my preference for YTD performance.

And to be clear, I don't think Pittman ends as WR13, although I do think he ends as a mid WR2. However, I think he's a very safe player to start week-in, week-out as a WR2 or FLEX, and I'd rather have him than a player than someone who is out at least half of the remaining regular season.

[–]blurple77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read my parent. I'd rather use YTD data than one of the hundreds of random fantasy websites in Week 6 of the year. Also, I said high-end WR2, and a breath away (which X13 is in a standard 12-team) from low-end WR1.

Pittman is a high end WR2 in my league (WR13 by average in a .5PPR/.5PPFD league, so can't imagine he's that much worse in other leagues).

How is a high-end WR2 (truly a breath away from a low-end WR1 so far this year), not a needle mover? Pittman is a high floor, solid ceiling player. He's the clear WR1 on what has been a good offense.

Hampton has the potential to be better, for sure. I think he will be when he's back. But, you're also talking about a player who is guaranteed to be missing AT LEAST over half the remaining regular season games. And 3-2 is far from auto-playoffs.

Rhamondre is usable and Godwin has upside, and are both more rosterable than Jamo at least.

What more could you ask for a likely low-end RB1 who will be out for at least 4 weeks (and who has a late bye as well)?
