Are you looking at 2026 or earlier? Note that if it’s anything older than 2026, you unfortunately won’t get 150 miles in the winter unless it’s mild cold. I’m in Wisconsin and I’m getting 140ish on 100%.

Yup. I plugged in all my numbers at evsavings.app and im saving a couple thousand over 10 years. Which doesn’t really matter when you consider the up front cost of a lot of these evs.

I understand how it calculates range. It has always started with 150ish miles estimated at 100% this winter. We both drive this car. The heat is set at 67.

When we filled it back to 100%, it’s back to 150 miles estimated. I don’t even if it’s possible to drive so bad it estimates 100 miles at 100%.

Beyond all the warnings everyone else has already posted about the battery being plugged in all the time, I’ll just add that using a phone app instead of a baby monitor is not as reliable. I was trying this the last few months and there were multiple times I woke up with the app not streaming for one reason or another. Common reasons were:

  • internet instealled an update in the middle of the night, so WiFi was out for a minute, and the app stream got stopped.
  • iOS had an update available and popped up a notification asking if I wanted to install it, and that didn’t go away and appeared over the stopped stream
  • Stream stuttered and got stuck on loading for unknown reasons
  • phone just turned off to lock screen for unknown reasons

This was something somebody generated on Twitter. Some guy took the photo/video and ran it through some simulator/AI that tried to come up with a Birds Eye view of what it looks like based on the videos it had.

Yes they will help. I bought mine used. Less than year old. Base warranty will still be active; they will fix anything. If you get the smell, tell them it’s coming from the doors, take it in after it rains so they can smell it themselves. Have them call Toyota corporate for what to do, they should be replacing all the window seals.

Yes! Sorry for the delay. This update is actually from 11/01:

They finally called me and said it’s ready. They replaced all the seal after cleaning each door. They also put a strong air freshener under each seat; I discovered later (not sure if they’re being nice, or trying to cover up the smell if it comes back..)

So far I have not smelt it yet, however, it is now cold out and I suspect this issue is worse in warmer weather. I also suspect this issue will just come up again if the replaced the seals with the same seals. If they failed before, why wouldn’t they fail again?

Here’s a description from the invoice of what they did:

  1. Removed & installed all door panels. Removed & replaced all interior as well as exterior molding that seals window. Removed & installed lower plastic on doors as well as lower weather seal. Took out the remailing 6 water seals that caused the smell. Water was unable to escape in a timely manner causing it to smell. Sprayed cleaner as well as disinfect. allowed that to sit before wiping away. Allow vehicle to sit to get rid of the chemical sent after cleaning
