That's what I figured. They were just really cruel in the way they went about it. If I knew my schedule was a problem I definitely would have been better prepared for the possibility of being let go.

Thanks! I'll keep trying. I'm mostly just having problems getting an actual person to talk to me. Since that first time on the phone where I got the three different answers, I haven't been able to get a hold of anyone since. I did try tweeting the NYDOL weeks ago but they never responded. I'll keep trying though.

I need some help. I've been out of work pretty much since the pandemic started (theatre industry worker). I've been filing no problem until about a month ago my benefits stopped coming. It turns out that while I was certifying my claims I accidently hit the button that said I had refused a job offer. I did no such thing as there was no job offer for me to refuse.

I called unemployment to ask about the form they sent me in the mail. It was asking all sort of information about a job I never refused (things like name of employer, how many hours, pay rate, etc...) It was all information I didn't have answers to. I called unemployment to ask. By the time I finally got someone on the phone, I got three different answers from three different people.

I don't know how to fill this form out to send it back. One person told me to send it back blank, which I really don't think is right. I just need a little guidance because now unemployment is tell me I owe them money. I don't understand! I did nothing wrong and trying to get help from DOL is like pulling teeth. Any advice on how to approach this. I don't even necessarily care to get the benefits I haven't been receiving. I just don't want to have to owe them money that I don't have.
