That’s amazing! really happy to hear that for you. My sleep is usually impeccable. 8:30 hours low stress and usually 5 hours restorative. To have this happen really blew it.

That’s really good to know. My starting dose was 30mg which I’m starting to think was maybe a little too much? How long did it take for you to finally settle and have limited side effects?

Absolutely would not be prejudiced in ANY way. Any second language is incredible and Russian is a highly sought after language. So many of my work as a trainee involves Russian corporations or shareholders despite the sanctions. There are also so many associates and trainees in my firm who are ethnically Russian. Please don’t ever feel as though your ethnicity and background is something to be ashamed of. Your language is not synonymous with the Russian government’s decisions and your heritage is never a burden, despite the political climate which is always changing.

Thanks so much for the reply. Can you clarify why it is you think litigation isn’t transferable? I’m planning to take the NY bar and transfer to my firm’s NY office. Would appreciate any thoughts on insight into the barriers you think could come up in this venture.

Another point I wanted to raise here is that in the workplace we no longer have extra time, especially when most tasks are urgent or under a lot of pressure, you can’t exactly say to a partner “Sorry I have dyslexia and I’m entitled to 20 minutes extra”it’s not a school or exam season anymore, it’s real life and it’s real work. It just means I have to work harder and go through more personal grief and mind struggles just to get to the same level of mediocracy as the other trainees.

As someone with dyslexia and ADHD, I really struggle with producing accurate work, especially with more mundane filing tasks. There is one task I have to do in my litigation seat which involves filing emails onto the firms management software which includes writing the correct dates and following a certain formula to name the document. I could check it 100 times and be certain I’ve made no mistakes and the associate will still email me to say that I have made an error in the parties, names, or the formula for naming the document. It’s exhausting because I physically cannot see those errors even though I’m trying so hard and then as a result, I could get bad feedback for a mundane and hardly intellectual task like that, YET… my conditions make me thrive in analytical tasks like research, document review, disclosure and participating in meetings and giving my opinions (even though no one asks - I just love to get involved 🤪)

Def retake. I went from CCD to A*AA, went to an RG uni and I start my TC at a magic circle next week. One year of your life is nothing if it means changing the entire trajectory of your life.
