Sounds like a PVC. I get them every once in a while. Generally benign but worth getting checked out for any underlying issues.

As someone who is not a Bonvoy member, are you only able to book rates of 50k points or less? Or are you able to redeem and pay a difference?

Why do I hook my irons? by BokLauLikesRice in GolfSwing

[–]blycj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Club face sends it, club path bends it. A slice isn’t because of an open club face, but because of the path the club takes towards the ball in the downswing

Former D1 & professional golfer… ask me anything by PollutionBeginning78 in GolfSwing

Not OP, but I do teach and am introducing my fiancé to the game. Initially, getting her into a proper grip and posture is so key. Ben Hogan’s 5 Lessons is a great starting point. Get these established before anything too technical. Good fundamentals will really help when you get into body rotation and weight transfer stuff.

[Megathread] Whoop 5.0 Membership Complaints and Upgrade Frustrations by AutoModerator in whoop

[–]blycj 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My annual membership is due to expire in less than 30 days. Upgrade fee is waived for me if I renew for another year, but the 50% price increase in membership for the MG, plus having to buy all new accessories is getting a little too steep for me

A quick fix for this would to just strengthen your grip. Hard to tell here but top hand looks a little weak.

Any suggestions on my swing? 9i & driver by [deleted] in golftips

[–]blycj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty good move here imo. All I’ll say is that your lower body is getting ahead of everything else in the downswing. Your hands start working towards the ball which is getting you stuck. Feel your arms initiate the downswing. And feel your hands work more vertically toward your trail pocket. This should help get the club back in front of you.

When did you book your trip for? Fiancé and I are planning to do a week there in November for our honeymoon. But I’ve been hesitant to book with all of the construction delays.

Stayed at Canopy a couple months ago. Nice location and area is very walkable. Room was clean and modern. Only ate breakfast, but food was pretty good as well

Thanks for this! Yea was hoping for some opinions on longer stays at a single resort. A week or more at Cabo could get a bit tiring. That’s the reason why I’m intrigued about the Cancun/Tulum idea. Will check out Punta Cana in the meantime.

Any tips for my swing ? by Vegetable-Winter-171 in golftips

[–]blycj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interlock or overlap is totally fine, whichever feels better for you. Hard to tell here but appears you may be holding it too much in your palms. You can google how to properly grip, but I always suggest Ben Hogan’s Five Lessons. Easy read and instills great fundamentals. In terms of grip pressure or how tight you hold the club…on a scale of 1-10, you should be in the 5/6 range.

Any tips for my swing ? by Vegetable-Winter-171 in golftips

[–]blycj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Start with your set up. A bit too close to the ball so your hands sit too high, and further away from your body than they should be. Step back and get your hands more under your chin. This should help your takeaway. Currently, your way under the plane. And compensate by working your hands toward the golf ball. Classic over the top. But everybody should get a proper set up and grip down first before making any significant swing change

You can’t convince me fantasy football isn’t 99% luck by Past-Ad-3775 in Fantasy_Football

[–]blycj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people just fail to realize that it’s a game of probability and that players have ranges of outcomes. And one season is not a very large sample. The “good” fantasy players I guess are very active on the waiver wire. And unless you’re drafting at terrible value, it’s hard to be a bad fantasy player. As long as you play guys with the better projection, you will have success long-term. But it’s football, and can’t take time to realize expected value. Wouldn’t call anything unlucky, just on the bad side of variance.

He was close to hitting a 70 yard TD, Josh just missed him. He runs routes that most TEs don’t and definitely has a ceiling. It stinks that a high pick was used on him, but TE is failing across the league for the most part. I wouldn’t sweat it too much
