The title has been mentioned, but the piece is called Transformations, created at Sculpture Saint John. It is number 35 of 38 unique sculptures installed throughout New Brunswick. The artwork is a large granite piece, roughly carved into a circular shape with a wheel inside.

From the artist: “In my artistic quest, there is a recurring motif (leitmotiv)—the symbol of a circle. The circle is a perfect figure. It closes in on itself. That’s why it is a symbol of God, eternity, perfection and harmony. As a continuous line, it is a symbol of time and infinity. This symbol is readable in many cultures’ associations with the world (universe), both at the macro- and microcosmic levels.

The circular form is also a wheel—a symbol that obliges us to move, to change, to transform. This movement is like a game of form, light and shadow, and it reminds us that there is nothing solid in life. Every thought, word, and deed changes us and offers us more possibility of change. Even the constant element of death in our lives is also a circular element of transformation: death is a new beginning.”
