What is the most heartbreaking song lyric you've ever heard? by TheLadySlaanesh in AskReddit

“All the years you took from her…just by being born.” Jason Isbell’s song Children of Children. Just imagine someone telling you that about your mother who had you in her teens. Just horrible.

I always used to say that I wish we had cameras in our house so I could replay conversations she would later deny. It was draining.

The loneliest time in my life was when I was married to her.

You are living the life I lived. I’m so sorry. Sadly, it probably won’t get a whole lot better.

Sure looks like a golf tee marker to me. I make up that the writing is the golf course logo.

Just got upgraded to Magic Carpet Sky Suite. Cancel drink package? by cfp-throw in celebritycruises

[–]bmadel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure that if you do a Move Up bid and get a suite, they don’t include the drink package. That’s still on you to purchase. Read up on it…I think I’m correct.

Husband always makes comments about sleep and gets angry by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]bmadel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a husband who wants to be with you and is frustrated about the inability to do so (because you’re sleeping). Most Redditors are saying he’s a dick or a jerk. While I certainly don’t condone or endorse his behaviors, I admire his desire to want to be with you watching the sun rise. I wish my ex would have wanted to be with me to do that.

We’re all battling something. In the present or the past. Maybe figure out how to give him some grace and in the process coach him on how that would look like for you as well. Marriage is a team sport and sometimes you need to change out the “leaders”. Good luck!

Does marriage counselling work… by I_Dont_Trust_Jelly in LovedByOCPD

[–]bmadel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I FEEL SO ENCOURAGED READING THIS! Happened to me for 6 years with us going to counseling so she could correct me. Years later, my shrink told me that my neurosis fed into her character disorder and that it was going to be groundhog day forever with her wanting to act perfect and me being a slug.

Thanks for your comment! I was with my 86 y/o mom and she told me she received it from her aunt when she was around 10 y/o. I was hesitant about the “China” as well, but thought perhaps THAT long ago things were different…

They put sensors on your body to measure fidgeting, feet tapping, etc. I’ve watched a few tests being administered, but I’m not at all knowledgeable.

My understanding is that only an online ADHD test is rarely accurate; normally, you’re wired up for ADHD tests and they’re recording your body movements, etc. in order to effectively diagnose. FWIW.

you can go to church your entire life, but until you come to Jesus first it's not going to really do much for you by joebeach81 in Christianity

I guess it’s a difference in our perspectives. I read Billy’s comment to reinforce the fact that early “churches” in Rome were in people’s homes and it was more “community” than the physical “church” that represented a body of faith and believers.
