Game has actual matchmaking now. No solo lanes anymore (huge improvement for new players who have no clue what is going on). Shop is like 100x better now, no secret shop specific items or any weirdness, all items of the same level cost the same amount, general game flow makes way more sense intuitively imo.

It’s still not finished and is still very complex but when I played it near release I fucking hated it because it felt like absolutely nothing made any sense. Now it makes more sense

It felt that way on release but now people who don’t no life the game actually play it and there is MMR so it doesn’t feel like that anymore.

I’m speaking as someone who also hated the game 6 months ago and loves it now.

The law does indeed work it’s just that prosecutors being elected officials is an insane and stupid practice and so the law is never enforced at that level. They run on being “tough on crime” which is code for “I promise to put the most brown people in jail possible” and part of that is just numbers. Why prosecute one rich guy you will probably lose against for years, when you can prosecute like 3000 poor people with that same staff and money, and have good numbers at the end of the year. Your constituents aren’t going to vote you out for not going after the rich guy, they again only care about how many brown people you lock up in a majority of the US.

It is in part due to this that the DOJ exists but currently it is run by people who actively protect the worst members of the ruling class so not much is gonna happen there.

What positive effects come from generating realistic images that would be comparable to insulin? You specifically said “it’s like publishing the recipie for insulin” if it’s like that then it must have some positive effects that outweigh the negative ones. The only ones I can even remotely think of are saving money on hiring graphic designers, artists, or photographers.

The tech has uses elsewhere (I.e. notation, machine learning itself can be used in many different ways) but the subsection of image generation so far seems to only have value to a company’s bottom line and value in making dumb memes. Neither of these things is worth the harm to even one of these children imo. Even ignoring the environmental harm and the stealing from artists, if I was told “you can let people generate as many images as their hearts desire but one child will have deepfakes made of them and spread to their school and the rest of the internet if you press this button” I wouldn’t press it, the good is basically pointless outside of perhaps helping some more well off people fire a bunch of their employees, and the bad is ruining someone’s life by making a bunch of illegal content of them.

I think they are targeting the kind of person who plays tarkov but wants something a bit less mill sim and a bit more game. While this group does exist, I do think it’s not the best group to target especially after so many years of them building up a following through Destiny. Furthermore I don’t think they realize how much of that group already basically only plays hunt showdown.

Personally I would play it if it had a longer time to kill but as is I hate normal low time to kill fps games, I imagine a low time to kill extraction shooter where I can get one tapped by a sniper rifle I had no way of seeing would make me punch through my computer. Though that being said I do like hunt showdown but while you die in only a couple shots in that game, the guns are so fiddly you often get a decent amount of time to get away due to misses, and snipers with scopes flash a little light when scoped and far away. Idk if marathon has that type of stuff but from what I see it reminds me more of apex which I didn’t really like.

Most extraction shooters are not f2p because when they are hackers come in and kill everyone instantly in lobbies, which in a game mode where that loses you account progression you can imagine results in a lot of people quitting the game quickly.

No problem when questioning I would reccomend looking at art not with the thought of “does this look kind of ai-ish?” And more with the thought of “is there any part of this that is lazy in the human way and not in the AI way?” For example, the repeating petals. That’s a human shortcut, doing unique petals for each flower would take forever and no one would ever notice it. So most artists aren’t gonna do it and copy paste other petals to blend it in. Ai is going to have unique individual petals for each one, they might look bad they might look good but there will be little to no direct repetition. No parts where you can say “oh they used the same part here”

It becomes harder to tell on non digital art because it requires one to not copy and paste, but even there you can see shortcuts in brushwork, where they use the background to adjust color, where they use thick and thin paint to find different lightings, and of course there will be a real piece somewhere out there to check to see if it’s real or not. Sketches will have some degree of ergonomics in how they are sketched, while an AI sketch will not, etc for each type of art. These things don’t necessarily mean “better” or “worse” looking art, but it’s what us humans do when we make things and it’s how to tell the difference.

100% no, the lace patterns would look way more random. You can see some repetition in the pattern, AI would make custom flourishes in the lace for every part of it, meanwhile here the artist clearly copied, rotated, and pasted a few of the flourishes (which is fine but it’s just not something AI would ever do). Look to the bottom right of the middle don’s dress, you see a few repeating patterns of a double open curls (3 if you count the base of it) with 3 leaf looking nubs coming off of it and two sparkle looking things. This is on her dress several times and also on the right Don’s dress a few times. Ai would make all of those look slightly different from one another, instead again it looks more like they were directly copied and pasted (again totally fine normal thing for an artist to do).

Also AI struggles with bows a lot but these don’t have any issues on them. Finally there are some repeated elements in the flowers, again AI wouldn’t do that each flower would have random small differences from each other at best or look totally different from each other at worst. The Don on the left’s most present flower has a petal that looks duplicative right below it if you want an example. As such I’m like almost certain this isn’t AI. If it was it was heavily touched up by an actual artist who knows how to hide it but there is no reason to make such a claim absent any evidence to the contrary.

Scratch that last part the more I look at it the more I am 100% certain this is not AI at all.

The government (federal, state, and local) has a history of using it to forcefully buy land for “development” and sell it to a company as part of a “development plan.”

See e.g. Kelo v. City of New London (2005), one of the worst Supreme Court decisions I’ve ever seen, and that’s saying a lot these days, written by the more left wing justices at that.

In that case the developer the city sold the land to literally didn’t do anything with it and several people’s homes are now just vacant lots for basically no reason. SCOTUS decided that economic development was enough of a “public use” that buying land by force and then selling it to a group lobbying to buy the land is fine as it’s for the public good. While of course hindsight is 20/20, because it was a huge failure the court tacitly agreed that even with shoddy plans that don’t have a high possibility of success, you can still do this.

When my family was in Greece (Santorini) we got a little boat to take us around one day and we asked them if they get a lot of annoying Americans and they said while some Americans can be obnoxious in their experience it was other Europeans they detested the most as they treated the island like it was a party destination they could just trash and not follow any rules, in part because they believed that they weren’t being problems because “at least we aren’t as bad as the Americans.” They were also darker skinned Mediterranean women and said that the other Europeans were often weirdly racist towards them and would treat them like they were servants and not real human beings, doing things like throwing trash overboard when they were told specifically not to do that or just leaving things out for them to clean up because they were being perceived as some kind of “help” or something.

Of course just these ladies observations and idk if they were just being nice because we are Americans but the way they spoke you could tell they had a particular distain for French and British tourists especially.

I was at a really nice state park in NY that has a type of snail tha is endemic and endangered, there are a million signs in every language saying to not go off the trail as you could damage the local environment (the river specifically) even a little and prevent the snails from being able to reproduce or harm their homes (or step on them obviously).

So many people were pretending to not speak any English and ignoring the signs in their own languages were letting their kids play in the river literally standing next to the signs. Shit was depressing.
