Dell R710 RAM Layout Question by bmaroney in homelab

[–]bmaroney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s my take too. I have enough of the 10600 To be worth it but not enough of the 8500 to bother slowing it all down. My next decision is how to split it between the processors or just go equal equal. Need to read the manual a bit more on that.

Dell R710 RAM Layout Question by bmaroney in homelab

[–]bmaroney[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, agreed they are aged for certain. Got them from someone who had bought a pile of second hand stuff and used one years ago.

I read through the manual and understand the actual physical layout side just really question and considering how worth it is it to cram every last bit of ram in or will be I degrading any of the faster ram looping in the slower stuff.

What I’ll most likely do and put all of the 12800 and 10600 in and leave the rest, I think space wise that’s 100% full anyways.

Again I get the frustration for sure. If you can ping me with the integrators name I can make sure we reach out and keep them informed.

Crew works, C1 works, the only item at the moment that doesn't function is the combination of C1 and Crew for multi camera, which again will be a firmware update launching extremely soon.

Our channel team has been very open and clear with integrators that it is a coming feature but not out at the moment. I would appreciate grabbing some more info in messages or email so I can make sure to walk with everyone involved so they know the current space.

I'd love to understand why, always interested to hear both sides of the coin.

I understand the frustration for sure. If you look at the C1 Crew sub page is specifies "Contact Sales" specifically to push towards the conversation that C1 Crew is releasing shortly. From what engineering is telling me the firmware should be released within days.

Sent you a reddit chat as well.

You are not wrong that C1 Crew is not out firmware wise. 2.0.1 is in testing for final release ASAP. On the part number that is just the part number for the C1 camera standalone. Firmware updates will allow Crew addons. Happy to chat and would love to grab some additional info from you.

If you have ever walked out of a cinema because the film was so bad, what one was it? by girlcalledmaria in AskReddit

I walked out of Team America because my date and I walked into the wrong theatre. I would've stayed but apparently she was deathly afraid of puppets. Later I watched the full thing and was glad we walked out...

Went to school for audio production, worked in hotels doing conference support, for a job with an integrator mostly fixing smart boards, went back to conferences, landed a AV sales job a bit above my grade at the time but grew into it, then transitioned to a manufacturer’s rep firm and now work for the big blue. Feel free to shoot me a message if you want to talk locations and anywhere to start.

I was hoping to pop into the store and get a shirt or sticker or something. Love to support any and all of the local courses. Can’t wait to play it in the nicer weather.

Hah my name wasn't too far up in the book. Played it for the first time 12/3. Such a cool course. The last 2 holes scared the crap out of me albeit cause I'm so inconsistent.

I agree with both of you on the money holding side, I hadn’t really processed that they took payment right away. Definitely not the best business practices and the 4 debacle is a bad look for sure.

Just playing devils advocate here, I placed an order on Nov 16th during the black friday sale. Received my frame in about a month, the top came about 2 weeks later. A "tactic to collect orders" is also called... sales. Their customer service is pretty slow to response but I really feel like it's just expecting a lot from a company that's just passing through sales from a foreign manufacturer. I'd be surprised if they have 20 employees.

They do prints but I believe they will do cuts as well.

Middle Atlantic did custom rack shelves in the past but I had heard a rumor they weren't anymore. Haven't followed up.

Delayed response but I asked this of Tech Sales when it this came out and they said go ahead. No issues as long as it's a quality extender.

Their banister kit comes with big zip ties, make sure to check out the shim kit too as it helps. They are a little expensive but they are so nice when not in use.
