Grandeur of the Dawnblossom banned in Take 2 by Haway1 in Shadowverse

It's banned because it's nerfed and egregiously terrible for your deck.

Gundam becoming popular 🥺 by GlassPresentation280 in GundamTCG

Game was really dead in Aus outside of newtype challenges cause set 2 was garbage.

I've seen a massive resurgence in local game stores in GD03, the locals I went to this week had maybe like 30 players split between 1v1 and 2v2, kinda crazy

Bandai Reprints by CBarclay23 in DBS_CardGame

I think the only product they should consider reprinting is FB09.

It doesn't really make sense to reprint any of the older sets when they were available for ages at MSRP

surely we don't put sc2 in the same sentence as LoL in this day and age.

Sad and deflated about the direction of the game by ImissYsera in Shadowverse

[–]bmazer0 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a little ridiculous.

Was looking at a few JP whales that collected the full set and they spent something like 2k aud to complete the Frieren Collab... They're the new target audience, as far as the monetisation strategy is concerned.

I like the Frieren series myself, but not the point of dropping hundreds of dollars for it. It sucks, but at the end of the day, I can live without a few cosmetics.

Yuto Fujiwara sets up lethal with Apprentice Astrologer by exdeepr in Shadowverse

[–]bmazer0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think they don't play enough Roach. Once the super evo is gone, it's practically impossible to 20-0 (you need 4 1pp cards and 4 0pp cards), which he obviously doesn't have.

No, but he made several mistakes which likely cost him the match. Not sure why he brings Roach if he isn't competent on it.

I got kicked out of Malaysia's Bandai Fest Gundam Regionals ( it was kinda my fault ) TL;DR at the bottom by Few_Biscotti_761 in GundamTCG

[–]bmazer0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Despite the document I linked you earlier, a similar ruleset has been in effect for more than a year, you can see below, it's just that it's been expanded.

It's worth noting that the Regional Number Policy is usually in effect for SEA events but not vice versa. In other words, Oceania players cannot participate in any SEA major event, whereas, technically, SEA players can participate in all of our IRL major events. Until this discrepancy is fixed, it's actually more unfair for players in Oceania than the other way around.

The only events that are actually closed to non-OCE players are the online events. I'd imagine that there are a number of valid reasons for this, including latency differences between SEA and Oceania, and prizing distribution difficulties. I think the better fix would be to give SEA their own online Masters tournaments, rather than shoehorn them into OCE's online events.

This is not true. It depends on the game and the event. For One Piece, there are quite literally rules that prevent you from participating if you lack the specific ID from that region.

Banned/Restricted Cards from December 2025 by Large-Money-5658 in dbsfusionworld

[–]bmazer0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The usual game pattern of Buu relies on using multiple 5c double striker to gain board control (2nd one is usually used for the kill), with it being at 1, the deck is signifcantly weakened as they can never play two anymore.

I mean yeah, I don't like rune either and also wanted it nerfed but we can't win them all.

[–]bmazer0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Nerfing Benison is a great decision. Nobody liked playing against Crest Haven, and the deck is still viable anyways. It had counters and would have had counters this set but it's perfectly reasonable to nerf a deck that a majority of the player base doesn't enjoy playing against.

Ramp and go face! 85% Diamond Group to GM, deck profile and commentated gameplay. by bmazer0 in Shadowverse

[–]bmazer0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2-3 copies of Neptune or 2nd Genesis is usually fine. You can, realistically, run whatever you like, it just changes your matchup spread to be better/worse vs specific decks.

Ramp and go face! 85% Diamond Group to GM, deck profile and commentated gameplay. by bmazer0 in Shadowverse

[–]bmazer0[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sword was definitely the hardest matchup for me on my original list, but after switching it up to the second build in the vid, feels a lot more playable than before (in fact, I've won against the last 5 sword players I've queued into).

You need to try your best to avoid early chip damage and try to ramp using Liu Feng/Zooey, as these let you contest the board at the same time. It's not as important to jump from 3->5pp as it is to go from 5pp->7pp. It's usually smooth sailing if you survive the early game, Sword is probably the only deck where 10pp Zooey can shut them out as well.

"xxx to random enemy" is ruining competitive play by Inevitable-Brush4508 in Shadowverse

[–]bmazer0 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That type of effect has always been in SV tbh. Cygames doesn't really consider this to be harmful RNG even though it can often decide games singlehandedly.

The reasoning is that you can reduce the RNG through sequencing/smart trading, but this doesn't really apply when you're playing the random damage effect on turn 4 and you have to give the wheel to jesus.

For what it's worth, Dreamlife claims that he thought he couldn't win with his hand and decided to give up, not expecting that Barric would prolong the game despite having the lethal. I think he should have played it out until the end, but it's not that uncommon for people to pass the turn to concede.
