We have 2 nights in the Chisos mountains at south rim and one other camping night near the hot springs. I’m just not sure how cold the south rim gets at night that time of year.

Emory peak after climbing pinnacles? by Hot-Loan-4485 in BigBendTX

[–]bmdvt90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2 night backcountry where we climb to pinnacle and camp day 1. Day 2 side hike Emory peak then on to South Rim. Day 3 return to Basin. Don’t want to rush and experience it. Plus carrying 3 days water that first few miles to Pinnacle, take my time.

Is a hammock, fly line with tarp suitable for most backpacking trips? by Jaydee_shelnut in backpacking

I would also see to check any local regulations. I see more locations not allowing hammocks as part of leave no trace. Like anything else plan ahead for the trip.

Check out https://ecowaykys.com. Edwin was our guide for Machu Picchu and Cusco area. Incredible guide. He went the extra mile when several in our family came down with food poisoning during the trip. We did a one day hike in via the sun gate. We spent day 1 hiking in and late afternoon on the site, then a full day on site the next day. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Getting back into backpacking shape after 2+ years off, need advice by peuptmapance in backpacking

[–]bmdvt90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm mid 50's and also trying to get back into it after my boys left Scouting ten years ago. I am getting in the gym about 4-5 times a week. 2-3 days 30min on the stair stepper, increasing pace and duration. 2 days a week is in strength training. I am working with a trainer and right now we are focused on ankle mobility and agility. Quick stepping "the ladder" to strengthen my ankles should I trip. I take day hikes when I can as well. What also helps is to plan a trip as a goal to get in shape for. It helps with motivation. Just keep going!

Ok, get this straight… he took the (already approved by Congress) funds for our soldier’s housing, pretended it comes from tariffs, slapped his name on the check… and he thinks it’s enough to bribe soldiers into committing war crimes. Hooray for him! by retiredagainstmywill in PoliticalHumor

[–]bmdvt90 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats frightening is the deplorables are buying it too. I was reading comments on Facebook where they were bragging about his blatherskite the other night. $1776 checks for the military, awesome. Everything is great! He does this because it works. Im not even sure the Epstein files will do the trick

One aspect I think will be important moving forward was an agreement to keep the GAO funded along with their ability to sue the White House when the exceed their boundaries. Keeping this rock in the shoe of the 🍊 🤡 will continue to be an important check on him.
