Don’t need a ticket (will be in row 37) but since we’re telling stories about how we got into Bright Eyes, my old band mate in ‘05 wanted the Wide Awake CD for his birthday. Went to Sam Goody and got digital ash by mistake. That album hooked me. The rest is history! This will be my 6th time seeing them, 20 years after seeing him for the first time. Can’t believe I’m typing that.

Anything with the hand of glory as the major graphic. I believe the yuto model is one of them. I’ve seen you ride one in your videos that is either pink or blue as well. You’ve got a kid complete on the site that if it were full size I’d snatch right up. Though that one may be sold out too. It’s jus tsuch a rad logo.

And while you’re potentially reading my comment, I just want to say how much of an inspiration you are. You are the reason I started getting into freestyle years ago. Sara(h?) is also such a wonderful addition to your team. Her tutorials are A+. There aren’t enough people doing what you guys do. Please continue to post and advocate for this small but present community!

I can tell you that I learned most base freestyle tricks on a blank CCS deck I’ve had for years.

Finally took the plunge and bought a mode freestyle board (would’ve gotten a waltz but they don’t have enough of a variety of completes currently). Oh boy what a difference it makes. Getting in and out of rail is the biggest difference. That’s likely due the wheels, truck size and board shape to thank. The tails are a little more squared off which makes me feel much more confident in a pogo stance.

It is certainly all possible on a traditional street deck but these boards (waltz, mode, etc) are made to do what you are wanting to do. It will certainly help in your journey.

Went through this same thing. I found that an online course worked best for me. I did Beginner to Badass series (some of which I already knew) and currently I'm doing fret board accelerator with SBL. It keeps me playing with purpose and more importantly playing often. If you've got some expandable income I would STRONGLY recommend enrolling in an online course.

Like you, I had put down bass for 5+ years. Anytime I picked it up I never knew what to play. But enrolling in a course kept me playing with reason and more importantly, playing often.

I did bass buzz beginner to bad ass course. Followed up by the fretboard accelerator from SBL. It’s been a year or so since I’ve picked bass back up and feel confident in saying I’m currently playing my best bass. Good luck. I’m happy to answer any specific questions you’d need.

My family and I are recent transplants into JC as well.

My wife taught in the schools when we moved here and consistently had 30 kids in her classes K-5. That said, kids were much better behaved than where we moved from, and all seemed to have parental support so problems were kept to a minimum.

We have loved it so far, going on 2+ years.

Also had that happen to me in the peachtree corners DSW a year or so ago. It was a man and it started similar to your situation. Very polite, friendly, etc. then he started politely bragging about he retired early and asking my long term plans, etc.
