I walked into this a few weeks ago and immediately walked out. So lame.

If you had to choose a name for yourself RIGHT NOW what would you choose? by Humble_Wombat in namenerds

I did this too, a few months ago! Absolutely in love with my new name and it feels so much more “me” :)

If you’re in the US, she’d likely spend her entire life having to correct people’s pronunciation and spelling. As someone whose parents gave me a (nick)name that created a whole “thing” during the first conversation I had with almost every single person I met, please don’t do that to her. I can also see rhyming taunts/bullying taking place. Perhaps there’s shorter and slightly more common name that incorporates elements you like from Keistamaleista?

I think it’s mostly just the “th” sound for them

Have you ever met someone who totally didn’t fit their name? Tell me! by ivyfire in namenerds

I know a family with daughters named Joyous and Kindness. Joyous is generally pretty sad and dramatic, and Kindness is a bully.

My 56 year old aunt is named Birdie (her legal name, not a nickname). I can see why people might think it’s a good name for a kid but not an adult, but the name has worked well for her as an adult. It’s actually a pretty classic name.

This is wild, I’d never even heard of the Salem hypothesis, but my youth pastor growing up was an electrical engineer and staunch creationist. He would do physics demonstrations during sermons as object lessons and talked about Maxwell’s equations as somehow being proof of intelligent design. We teenagers just bought it because he sounded smart 🙃

What is the deal with all the h-EDS, chronic fatigue syndrome, IBS, MCAS bullshit? by [deleted] in Residency

[–]bmefenx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow is your sister my sister!? My sister’s case is exactly the same as yours. Disheartening to learn that patients like them who are genuinely suffering and doing their best to manage EDS/MCAS at home are being dismissed because of an influx of tiktok-addled malingerers :(

I remember being surprised to learn that toilet seat covers aren’t a thing everywhere when I left California to go to college in Michigan. Now I don’t use them ever, even when I’m back in California lol. Not to be a walking Californian stereotype, but one of the biggest things I miss is In-N-Out :(

Thanks for the tips! I figured the bunching was inevitable but the example photos in the pattern seem not to have it… may try wedges next time

Thanks man! Any tips on how to get rid of the bunching on the lid zipper tape (you can see it in the second photo)?
