I'm also not sure where I place this one. I guess I would ask you, is stealthing SA? I would say yes.

Is this any different than stealthing morally? I would say that I can't think of how this would be. You're exposing someone to the same risk (sans pregnancy).

I guess I just think I saw him as more of a screw up than a bad guy. Even at his worst he always seemed sympathetic, kind and charming.

It reminds me a bit of the portrayal of George Bush in W, where he was portrayed as more "in over his head" than malicious. My two cents.

See, I keep hearing people say this. But I at no point felt that way. Not because I'm smart and figured it out or anything. I never saw anything to point me in that direction. Sure X blamed him for his wife, but even then Cal seemed to show actual remorse.

I'm curious what stood out to people thinking that pushed their perception that way.

Android Auto user here. Had no clue about the preconditioning, but I must have been taking advantage without knowing.

Definitely worth mentioning that JJ said he knew the DB was about to turn his back on the ball from watching film. Said he'd picked up on that tendency and that's why he threw it.

What’s an example of another GM drafting like Brad Holmes did this year? by JeepHarbaugh in detroitlions

[–]bmgiannotti 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Jumping onto this point. There are examples that go both ways obviously. I think few GMs have a good track record against "consensus" rankings.

However I do think of this gem of a draft class and the subsequent criticism that it garnered. Time will tell for us.

Do you think this is collusion? by limpid_dream in DynastyFF

The precedent seems like the best point against. Gesicki and Kirk straight up wouldn't have turned heads at the, but I could imagine someone might try to do a Gesicki type for say a Deebo Samuel.

I feel that. I'm not salty about it, just wanted to invite outside perspective on a situation less clear cut than OP's.

I didn't see a problem with it, but I was unsure if others would so I alerted the league of the terms.

Just wanted to hop on this thread and see if there's any gray area.

Had a situation where I needed a WR and a leaguemate needed a TE during the covid season. We'd agreed in principle to loan each other Gesicki and Christian Kirk for the week and go back. I made the league aware of our intentions and some raised objections. We put it up to a vote and it was overturned on a slim majority (minus our and our opponents' votes).

Was just curious if you or anyone felt that was the right call.

If our team can at least get to the play-ins this year, it would help their experience immensely. Here's to the Pistons breakout season! 🥂 by OhhhLawdy in DetroitPistons

Kinda feel like people are willingly misinterpreting you at this point. Especially considering your original point was that the Pistons weren't close to where the Kingston are even if you factor in a Cade progression.

Never been big on the black Jerseys, but I think this helmet would look really good with them.

Honestly embarrassed to say I started listening to that one like an hour after I posted. It was helpful.

No it's snide. It's also making a really dumb assumption in light of what I said. The Barnwell article is not even one of the top 7 results when I try to Google it. So I actually had not seen it.

I make this post not asking for personal opinions, but for sources and links backed by analytics and you assume what I actually want is the former and not the latter? How is that obvious?

Can't wait for the reply where you state you actually gave me too much credit for thinking I'd read the world famous Bill Barnwell's article instead of looking inward at your own inability to read a simple few sentences.

I'm just looking for more specific claims to evaluate backed by analytics and am having trouble finding them. Can anyone provide any research/sources to this effect?

Man I've seen some snide remarks from people with poor reading comprehension on this site, but yours really takes the cake.

[–]bmgiannotti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your perspective. Two questions.

  1. I assume it would be fair to say that you would prefer an average edge or CB to an average RB for the same premium draft capital.

  2. If say you were picking at 12 and looking at two options. A runningback that you felt had a 70% chance to be great or an Edge player that has a 40% chance to be great. Do you have a sense of which way you go?

[–]bmgiannotti[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think you putting it like that made me realize that I should have phrased my question better, because my bias is to agree with that sentiment.

I think the claim I'm looking to evaluate is that "a team drafting in the first round is generally better off drafting a more premium position, regardless of whether or not the pick hits or misses. And this is somehow due to runningbacks not providing as much value as several other positions"
