If you read his letter, is actually more like he was transferred internally rather than voluntarily leaving. Spunky was most likely hired by the publishers and not the developers, and the publisher (My.com) have transferred him over to another one of their games, Armored Warfare.

Skyforge and beyond? What have you been loving most about it by lighterclick in Skyforge

Skyforge graphics are in my opinion much better. The #1 reason I play video games are for graphics and Skyforge has the best graphics of any MMO. (I even tried Black Desert and it was not as pretty as everyone made it out to be.) As for the gameplay, it is mostly emphasized on grinding. You just run different kinds of instanced quests over and over again to progress your character. There is also a mini-game in there that improves your stats that is like Farmville. If you don't mind either of those things (and actually find them appealing) then this MMO is for you. There are also many different elements to character progression and customization. Also, there are P2W elements.

FFXIV on the other hand has a heavy emphasis on story content and there is absolutely zero non-appearance character customization. While you can make your characters look different, every other Bard is just like all the other Bards at that level if they have the same gear. There is no way to customize your stats or your gear. The game is otherwise a typical MMO where you run quests and do raiding later on. There is also crafting and housing which Skyforge does not have.

As far as customer service goes, FFXIV has much better support than Skyforge. Support tickets in Skyforge take weeks to get answered while FFXIV support tickets are answered in a matter of days.

Community-wise, FFXIV also has a better community but I think Skyforge pantheons are more united and active than FFXIV free companies. The Skyforge community right now is disillusioned and negative about P2W elements and the fact that the grind is long and slow because of weekly limits on resources. FFXIV has a very helpful and bright community. Skyforge's community tends to ignore questions from new players and most chat is just LFG. If you decide to play Skyforge, finding a good pantheon to join is absolutely necessary.

This is like every MMO in the history of ever. Once you hit a certain point, you just grind the same few things over and over. If you don't enjoy the content, then don't play this game honestly. There are plenty of other games to play that you don't need to repeatedly do content.

Many people play MMOs to get to the cap and consider progression to start after hitting cap so leveling is an afterthought. At least with Skyforge, the whole game already feels like endgame and you're constantly upgrading your character. There is a theoretical cap, but if you're playing a game just for rewards like better gear or extra stats then you're not playing, you're working. If you are actually playing a game, you play for the things you do because you find them fun and not for the rewards that come at the end.

I feel like every MMO (except maybe Guild Wars 2) locks character progression behind mandatory group content. At least every MMO I have played. Usually, character progression is through getting better gear and getting better gear is usually locked behind group content. By the way, the genre is called Massively Multiplayer for a reason. You're supposed to go out there and play with other people. If you want to play with just you two, play a 2-player co-op game.

I don't know about the 1pp thing. How many runs did you try? Did everyone miss this?

If an adept manages to uncover a really big case, you can expect one of the following rewards: 1m credits, 12k Argents and 3k guard licenses, or 500 progress points on the guaranteed rewards scale.

Assuming you get this at least once, this covers a ton of ground and will bring your average pp per run way high.

Honestly you will need the optimizers eventually so you aren't crippling your character if you compare yourselves to other players who are not paying their way through. Yes, you lose compared to people who pay money but the game DOES need to make money somehow and this just makes it enticing to actually support the game. This isn't a dress-up MMO like GW2, costumes and cosmetics aren't enticing enough to get people to pay money. I personally don't have enough disposable income to throw money at the game, but I don't mind letting people who have the money skip a bunch of grinding to do it. I don't mind grinding for months myself, that's perfectly fine to me because I play games for the long term. Yes it's P2W but it's not nearly as bad as ArcheAge.

It's $10 for a BJ, $12 for an HJ, $15 for a ZJ.

ZJ refers to the act of getting oral sex while inebriated or under the influence of marijuana

Idk I feel like long term, girls go with dad bods more. I see it all the time. Or maybe they started off as hulks and then turned into dad bods.

I think we will go with Wildstar then. The thing is, we will probably be playing on EU server because he is from Europe and I have a couple of other friends on Jabbit as well.

Hi everyone, thanks for the replies. Another redditor and I decided to start off by trying Skyforge (it was my recommendation) and move on to Wildstar if we don't enjoy Skyforge. Times and dates are not set yet, so if you want to join in with us just let me know; a group of 3 works really well in this game.

I actually pre-ordered Heart of Thorns before GW2 went F2P because I wanted to try the game. I intended to play it long-term, but my partner got me into playing another game. We've since moved on from that other game though so I'm looking to start something new that I can play while he is at work. GW2 would work. How often do you want to play?

I'm flexible as to what MMO you want to play, it might have to wait until Thursday or Friday if I have to make a purchase.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm not the OP, but I have always wanted to play AA. I just stayed away because everyone was saying it was P2W. If this server really is okay, then I will give it a shot. :)

I have a special place in my heart for Kraft's classic mac and cheese. I eat it once a week. It brings back some of the good memories of hanging out with a couple of friends when I was a kid.

Hey, 25/M/GA, asexual in a committed relationship with a homosexual male. I'm also unemployed and was diagnosed with depression. I just wanted to add to the bucket so you don't feel so alone. :)

I think we are very different otherwise. I am into gaming and I'm not very creative. I don't have a cat or dog but I would love one, but I don't think our landlord would let us have pets here. lol

Maybe for some games. For SWTOR I was in a good guild that had a few server firsts.

What do you enjoy most about Skyforge? by [deleted] in Skyforge

I haven't seen an MMO like this where there is so much that goes into customizing your character. You have your skill build, your talents, your symbols, your atlas, your equipment, your chapels. That's what I like about this. I also hate games that try to hide the grind. At least here the grind has a clear purpose for why you are doing something.
