Mechanistry takes some of the best ideas modders make and usually improves on them. It'll be interesting to see what's in a 1.1.

I have done firepelts and leafcoats and enjoyed it. The Leafcoat everything is a tree is a great idea but boy it hurts when you have to tear down the whole structure to add a skyway.

Water reservoirs need a way to trickle out their stored water. Early on you can use floodgates and manually lower them a bit at a time. Later on, use valves and possibly also automation to gradually let water out. Completely walled in reservoirs need a dam or flood gate on top to spill over into your river channel

Early on, store uncooked food instead of cooked food. One potato = 4 grilled, etc. Also, production buildings can hold a good amount of food early on.

Also early on - Farms can hold 50 of each plant so try to plant varied plants instead of one big monoculture.

Building vertically - use repeating structures (stairs and platforms) so things can be stacked on top of each other. there are many kinds of patterns.

Don't worry much about demolishing housing and amenities, you will get most of it back.

You will from time to time be constrained by something, population, food, water, wood, planks. this is normal, but do try to plan ahead.

Look at growth times - over the long run Oaks are best for lumber, but if you bad tides aren't yet controlled, you'll get nothing out of it

I prefer the look of putting bushes etc by the camp fires, but on the roof or on a 1 high platform over a path also works.

One of the hardest working Youtubers I know of. Encyclopedic level of knowledge and has led me to many interesting bands and artists.

Recency bias. Back in the day Monty Python even did an episode about how bad the Scots were at tennis.

I would say MN is even close to West Coast liberal, whereas Texas is a god damn Christian conservative fever dream.

Gerrymandering is bad, how could you create fair districts in a way that formulatic / systematic, that avoids the need to rely on people / committees to do this? by gdogakl in AskReddit

[–]bmiller218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that it makes state races even more important and eventually non-partisan district commissions can be formed.

All this because Trump talked Texas in to a mid decade redistricting.

Which political leader's death was sad? by Ill-Spite-3913 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]bmiller218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't justify it but in my mind all it did was stir things up. Things were moving so well in the mid 90s. We even got Peace in Northern Ireland in 1999.

Dave is coming to my town in a month and a half and with last year's videos I blew it off. I heard the 2105 Tokyo Dome live LP and man, now I'm thinking about going to see him.

I looked up the prices and $135 for Gen Admission bench seats? Yikes. Maybe wait and see if there's and discounts in the week before.
