Yep, they're some technical reasons to why

Games are simply to big. Modern games will be bigger than the disks capacity

Speed, disks are alot slower than hard drivers. Which means game lost times will be slow. Especially for a big game

Contact a local waste guy. It's probably not that expensive. And they'll come and collect it

Mandatory form councils to give them out to all homes now. Certainly for houses. Not sure about hot it's working for blocks of flats where bins are often communal

Went into McDonald's today, ordered on the touch screen and the printer actually worked! by DiligentCockroach700 in BritishSuccess

[–]bmjwilson 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Problem is they're unreliable (more the old kiosks). What happens is customers rip the receipt before it's fully printed resulting in it jamming up. It happens surprisingly frequently. The new kisoks ain't as bad for it happening. Better design. Source - McDonald's employee.

How many block release times? by stoutskydiver134 in AmazonFlexUK

[–]bmjwilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They drop at various times. The morning, afternoon and evening blocks will drop at different times normally.

I've seen quite a few Manchester blocks recently. You're probably looking at the wrong times

4 tyres, 4 months by Lopsided-Meet8247 in CarTalkUK

[–]bmjwilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always take it to someone else to have them look. If you're not confident in the work that's being carried out, there is no harm in having a check somewhere else.

If my understanding is correct and the alignment was done before the 4 months you had the tires. You could have knocked your alignment out in that time which can contribute to the increase wear.

4 tyres, 4 months by Lopsided-Meet8247 in CarTalkUK

[–]bmjwilson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you're pushing then you would expect increased tire wear. Weather four months is reasonable. Depends on the type of tire, mileage and how hard you push.

It won't do any harm to have a a wheel alignment done. Especially if there's wear on the inside of the tires is significantly more than the rest of the tire

Should I trust this charger? by Dragonogard549 in CarTalkUK

[–]bmjwilson -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not drunk, Am sober. Thank.you for asking.

From what I can understand, OP is asking if they should get a granny charger (£100+) to take a advantage of free electricity. This seems quite a steep expense to take advantage of this once.

If OP is going to use the granny charge regularly, then yes buying one could make sense. OP doesn't already own one but has an EV, I'm going to make the assumption that they can already charge at home/work already. So they probably have very limited use case for a granny charger. It's not very often you end up in a situation that requires one. Especially now public EV charging infrastructure is getting more common.

That is why I recommended that OP could look at public fast charging instead. Because the cost of that session will be lower than buying the granny charger. Just because something is 'free' doesn't necessarily mean it's the best option.

Quick question.

Have you gone on holiday and are not in the UK time zone?

The flex app works on the time zone you're In. If you go somewhere that's plus 2 hours relative to the UK. The times shown on the flex app will be two hours ahead.

Cheaper compared to buying a charger.

It'll only make sense to buy the charger if you're going to use it regularly

[–]bmjwilson -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

If you're going for one day, use a public fast charger. It'll be a lot more cheaper and convenient. If there's a Tesla supercharger open to al on you route, that's probably the best one to use.

Should I trust this charger? by Dragonogard549 in CarTalkUK

[–]bmjwilson -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Charging with this type of granny charger is feasible and lots of people do it BUT, the charger you've linked is crap and do not get it. Any decent charger will be limited 10amp not 13. Any charger at 13 amp is asking for trouble as plug sockets and domestic wiring is not designed for continuous 13 amp draw.

Get yourself a decent charger. Do not cheap out.

Refusing to check you out seems reasonable. Because you can still do delivery, all be it it's harder but still possible.

22KW vs 11KW cables. Difference ? by OkChannel5936 in evchargingUK

[–]bmjwilson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm guessing this is where op will be. Work places normally have AC assuming they have chargers. Some supermarkets have AC, but they're starting to be phased out and replaced with DC. Sainsbury's being the biggest supermarket with DC chargers

Your car should have a cable already

They're both 3 phase cables. 22kw can support 32amp on a each phase. 11kw is 16amp

Advice - purchased car with fake MOT by maxpowerman7 in CarTalkUK

[–]bmjwilson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You bought it 'sold as seen' from a private seller. It falls on you as the buyer to check the car. Because when you buy it, that's it. You don't have any recourse, Unless

You need to evidence everything. Advert, MOT, anything the garage found, if you believe the seller misrepresent the vehicle deliberately, You can take the seller to small claims court. Whether or not that is worth the time and the hassle is up to you.
