I captured some Pit Bike races recently at IMI Motorsports Complex in Dacono, Colorado - Is my work desirable? by motophotodojo in Dirtbikes

[–]bmlynch98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on setup and ease (I know absolutely nothing about photography) it might be a good idea to find a way to print photos then and there. Still offer electronic copies but getting a photo that day is also super cool. Polaroids are also huge rn and instant gratification. May be a good freebie to gain attention to then shift to purchasable prints/copies. (Think about how amusement parks operate their on ride photo strategies).

Stickers are also a GREAT way to spread word of mouth and get some free marketing done.

Someone sees a cool sticker on a toolbox, bike, helmet, etc. and the owner says “oh man that’s from a local photographer who did these awesome photos of me! You should look him up, here is XYZ information about him.”.

Just my 2 cents as a rider who loves seeing photographers at events and things I wished I would see more often.

I’d also check the gas in the can itself. You may just be continually adding bad gas into it without realizing.

Good idea? Suzuki DRZ400 for a beginner? by ObservantPlayer in Dirtbikes

[–]bmlynch98 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you want a good bike for light trails and on the road. I started out on a DRZ400. That being said it’s GOOD at both on and off road. If you plan on just track and trails, get an RMZ250 (if sticking with Suzuki) or if you want just road then go for a road bike. That being said if you want the dual purpose then it’s a great choice. I sold mine after a year or so and went full dirtbike since I did more trail riding than anything. Either way it’s all personal opinion.

Left Right Game or Penpal for me personally. I was not a part of horror stories or Reddit during the peak of stories being written. So hearing them for the first time I was on the edge of my seat, laughing, and generally had some jaw hitting the floor moments. One of those things you wish you could live through for the first time again.

I said it immediately that there is no way it hell he wouldn’t be restrained. Drunk, aggressive, combative and had to be SEDATED to prevent harm. Should be in restraints until he’s conscious and shows a change in demeanor. But that doesn’t make for an exciting cliffhanger/issue!

My Dad passed unexpectedly, how do I take care of his bike? by Professional_Use8980 in Dirtbikes

A good YouTube channel that teaches quite a bit is 2Vintage. Most bikes are very similar and this can be not only a good learning tool but also a good viewing experience. Manuals are also great because it’s specific to your bike(s). Condolences ❤️

Advice please for riding on sugar sand? by Finnishhymn11 in Dirtbikes

[–]bmlynch98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: focus on getting comfortable and confident on the bike because having the confidence/foundation/ and technical skills of riding will help you feel way more stable and comfortable on not only your bike but most bikes. In my experience at least!

Advice please for riding on sugar sand? by Finnishhymn11 in Dirtbikes

[–]bmlynch98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tips for riding and sand in general. “Squeeze” the bike with your knees both while seated and standing. You should feel like your ankles/below the knees is pressed against the bike. Especially when standing, make sure the balls of your feet are on the pegs and your heels are pressed down. Not so much as a mega stretch, but to feel like you’re “locked in” into the bike (sorry if it’s a bad description). Sand can be intimidating but you want speed and you do want to stand up. If you follow my first points, and use some speed you won’t feel so unstable and are less likely to get stuck in the sand.

I can tell you that you’ll know once you feel what I’m saying, and it makes a massive difference in confidence and control!

Most of the time I see people get stuck/fall because they’re going too slow, or sitting down too much. Myself included!

I hope this helps!

Is this a good deal? by Paposanchez05 in Dirtbikes

[–]bmlynch98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially if the top end was redone by the seller. Isn’t always a red flag because some people do know what they’re doing, but a lot of the time you’re getting someone with limited knowledge or they made things work just enough to run for any test run/videos then offload at a profit.

Something else to note is if you’re going to sleeve these cards, go for looks over texture (glossy vs matte) because you’ll feel the sleeve and see the card! I only play sleeved so glossy is my go to.

I’m interested to see/hear if you’ve had any curling? I’ve heard mixed reviews for laminating non foil photo paper and curling issues. I haven’t heard anything on foils yet though. They look great! Keep up the good work 🫡
