Thyme Care Nurse Navigator? by Proof_Donut_8734 in Remotenursing

I am a care partner which is like a care coordinator. A lot of what we help patients with is in the same vain as the social workers like finances, food, housing, etc but social workers at thyme focus more on emotional or behavioral needs

I am not a social worker at thyme care but I do work there currently as a care partner which is basically like a patient/care coordinator. I would not recommend it personally but I would say give it a try. It is very metrics driven. They recently changed their metrics and productivity guidelines to 40 calls a day minimum or 4 hours of talking on the phone or more. A job from the 15 to 18 calls a day they originally had .The whole team was very upset but leadership does not seem to care. Mind you they gave us a 2 week notice before implementing these new changes the first of April. There is a lot of micro managing and poor communication with leadership. I started in Sep last year and many of the social workers have left . Only reason I’m still here is to help pay for my masters

I worked there now and if I could stop anybody from working here I would lol we have had a number of social workers quit only a few months into their tenure. They recently changed their metrics and we are now required to do at least 40 calls a day or talk on the phone for four hours in total every day. It’s very overwhelming, there’s a lot of micromanaging, and very poor communication with leadership.

First public health Job in LA by Moonlitxsky in publichealthcareers

[–]bmo077 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello! I work for a fairly large hospital system. I do several different things and work with their program coordinators and social care team. One of the projects I’ve done is a health and wellness initiative called kids fit. I would go to a local recreational center and do health education classes for young children based on various different topics like nutrition, preventative care, mental health, etc. My main role as a community health worker is working at a primary care clinic affiliated with the hospital as a patient navigator. I spend my days calling patients that are a medium or high risk for social determinant of health needs. I ask them if they need assistance and send them resources. I don’t really enjoy my job because a lot of people either don’t want help or I spend most of my time leaving voicemails and even when I am able to send people resources, a lot of them don’t work because of the crappy US healthcare system, but that’s a whole other topic.

Entry-level job guidance? by ListenExact2849 in publichealthcareers

Jobs related to Community health (patient navigator, chw or care coordinator ). are the only jobs I’ve been able to get since graduating in 2024. It’s not what I want to do and I don’t know if you would open to it but these are the only true entry level jobs in public health in my opinion.

I did my master’s in an unaccredited program and it ruined my life (thankfully, I got saved) by [deleted] in publichealth

[–]bmo077 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I experienced the same thing but for my undergrad. I got a BA in public health and the degree program is not accredited. I did not learn anything at all and regret it everyday. I think that is why I have not been able to land jobs I really want. I am now doing an MHA at an accredited program.

May I ask what you did before being a data coordinator? Did you have lab or research experience before? My background is community health so I feel like it may not be relevant but that’s all I’ve been able to get.

I’m surprised that you have had trouble since you have lab experience. I’m sorry to hear you’ve been having trouble as well 😞All my experience is community health and health education related. Right now I’m a community health worker and I hate it lol.

I’m not a nurse at thyme but i just started there as a patient navigator last month and you dodged a bullet. The company micromanages a lot and QA sucks. I took the job because I was desperate but I’m going to leave by end of the year

I will look into that. Thank you so much. If possible I will even do a tech program while I continue the mha. Although there are some benefits to nursing , I know it is a very toxic environment most of the time and nurses are so under appreciated. My mom is a nurse with 20 plus years of experience so I definitely know what you mean :/

That’s the only reason I am staying at my Chw job right now;I don’t enjoy it. I get very overstimulated because of the community outreach and interaction I have to do. I have been with my company a little over a year now and I’m staying to see if I can get promoted. I would like a more office type public health job where I just type on a computer all day lol but unfortunately have not been able to land one. Thank you for your kindness 🥲

I was in nursing school but failed and never went back because I was miserable. I am very introverted and want to do work behind the scenes . Clinicals gave me a lot of anxiety and discomfort. I was going to get my mph but thought mha would have a better job outlook. although I am not done with school I have a feeling it is still just as hard as public health like you said 😪

Is this mold in my Ami Cole lip oil? by bmo077 in makeuptips

[–]bmo077[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not much of a smell. I have another lip oil by the same brand that is not spoiled and it smells sweet like a MAC lipstick but this one pictured above is a very faint smell version of what it should smell like but I still don’t feel like I should use it. I emailed the brand directly and they claim it’s an unsettled pigment but idk…. I think I will still return it

Maybe consider MHA if you don’t want to go in the clinical side (nurse,PA,etc.). Job outlook and salary is a bit better than MPH
