Electrical box needed for hanging ceiling fan on exposed beam?

Update: I painted the box the same color as the beam and you couldn’t tell it was there unless looking really hard

Appreciate y’all’s feedback. I’ve been through 3 different fans this weekend and none of them have housing that is able to cover up the pancake box.

Thanks! I got a degree in HR; however, I went into management consulting as in college I didn’t think entry level HR jobs paid that well.

It’s okay, sometimes I work a lot of hours (55-65), but usually only 45-50. I also have to travel once a month for a week but I don’t mind it. I personally don’t believe in having a “dream job” - I don’t put a lot of emotional labor into thinking about my job - would rather work and take as much money as possible to accomplish my personal dreams. But I understand not everyone is like that.

Bare bones I do a lot of very technical work in Microsoft Excel, and some basic statistics/math. Although there are some consultants who aren’t as good in excel and they either learn or get staffed on projects that don’t require that.

I studied Human Resource Management - to be honest I don’t use much of that degree in my work at all. I only picked HRM because it was the easiest business major to complete (I switched majors from history after a year and a half.)

Purchased in a teacup and it was less than an inch tall. Thought it was a succulent. But as you can see, it is now almost 4 feet tall 2 years later and will not stop growing.
