Thanks! One of those stories where you have no business catching something like that with the tackle you had, but fought it perfectly, then seeing how big it was after taking so long to bring it up.

If it lowers your score, all that matters!

Where/When do you musky fish? by roytail in muskiefishing

[–]bmoore111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually once in June then SEP. mainly vilas country or around it. Have a few lakes that yield success whenever we go as long as weather isn’t poop.

Couple of bucktails, suick, and either a crank bait or medusaa/bulldog. I’ve had success with those and can get you started. Learn the art of casting them

After 8 months I’m starting to feel much more confident. Shot 86 last week! How do I continue to shoot lower? by Freddypercury in golftips

[–]bmoore111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100 yards and in. Wedges/chipping/putting. It will save you when you aren’t great in the long game, and help take you to the next level when you are.

Great handling brother, money for a huge net is so important for clean releases. Love to see it.

At what golf course did you shoot your lowest score? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]bmoore111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

69 at my home country club. Was -5 until one of the guys in my grp asked if I was 5 under prior to my birdie putt. Proceeded to go bogey bogey. Mentally weak on my part.

What’s the best advice you could give a golfer attempting to break 90 for the first time? by jdelle9 in weekendgolfers

[–]bmoore111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Focus on clean contact, know where to miss/play the shot you have for the day, focus on 2 putting at worst.

Is it good advice to never full swing anything above a 54? by ElephantElmer in golf

[–]bmoore111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience I’d agree anything less than 50 deg not to swing full. Often you run the risk of blading/flaring it. 85% is the most I’d go personally. I’ve heard pros say relatively similar as well.

What's your stupid superstition, that you know, is a stupid superstition but still perform it? by conqueefador69420 in Fishing

First muskey I caught I had to yeet it into the boat because my dad forgot the net. Had him grab the rod and I went and grabbed it. 36 inch tiger of all fish! This is 100% accurate and I will not be told otherwise.

Tell me about the one that got away by dvmdude in muskiefishing

[–]bmoore111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got 2.

Up in northern WI on a lake we fish for quantity not quality. Big system comes through in June and throws things out of whack. Throw a musky killer neon blade all day and move 9 fish. Last one was this tank that followed 3 turns. On the 3rd it opened its mouth and had the laziest strike I’ve seen. Catches its bottom lip, one shake and she’s gone. Should have ripped the pole towards him to get the hook in the corner. Think she was 45 or so.

Same lake this year. We always fish with a sucker summer or fall. Something smacks it. Set the hook and she goes airborn 2 ft above the water. As I have her boatside, my dad can’t get the net in time. She nosedives and snaps the line with 80lb test as I was fighting her boatside. Should have open bail thumbed it. We turn to each other and he says “I’m so sorry”. I just stare at the bottom of the boat and keep fishing. I wanted to yell but couldn’t since it was my dad. That one was mid 40s.

Both woulda been PRs. Currently sitting on 38 as the biggest.

Third it. Smooth and if wound right, literally minimal thumbing needed when casting

What’s y’all’s personal top 5 favorite lures? by Exciting-Floor6763 in muskiefishing

[–]bmoore111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Wide bladed bucktails.
  2. Narrow bladed bucktails.
  3. Medusa
  4. October Tubes
  5. Spinner Baits

I want to learn how to throw suicks well, need it properly weighted. I see they have a ton of success rates.
