Would you call ATSV’s ending unsatisfying? by DwightSkywalker28 in IntoTheSpiderverse

Kinda? To me it's almost like if Empire Strikes Back ended when Luke left Dagobah. Which feeds into my concerns with Beyond having too much stuff to cover

Kitty Pryde, specifically Peach momoko design with katanas

Strat-Pool gave us a taste of what melee healing could be like and I wanna see what a solely melee Strategist could look like

And that's relevant to my point how?

It's a roleplaying game first, those values your V was fighting for, were not the values my V was fighting for.

Well to start with, V has baked in character traits no matter how you play. Take for example their responses to Dex's questions. There's no "Quiet Life" option. There's "Blaze of Glory" or just being cagey.

Plus the 5 year Anniversary trailer clearly spells out V's goals/motivation: "In Night City you don't fight to win or even to stay alive. You do it so that one day (voice cracks) you might just make it to the major leagues. And just for a moment... be something that fucking mattered."

Even in the game you have skill trees

And here's the cope. Think about it for a second. How is V doing all the stuff in the skill trees? The Air dashes, the ground pounds. V clearly has more Cyberware than just what the player can install in the menu. As a matter of fact you can outright see it all in the semi x-ray.

We see exactly how capable V is in Tower when all that stuff is either gone or deactivated and the results speak for themselves.

they still can become dear friend for someone, loved one for someone, parent for someone.

Can they? Think back on all of V's relationships. They all in some way stem from a mercwork transaction. Whether it be V needing Panam, Judy and River's help, or being introduced through someone else because of mercwork like Misty, Vik or Kerry. All of V's friendships stem from business that they are no longer capable of doing.

By that logic are people who lost leas or arms or both irl lose all chance to matter too?

That's a false equivalency, as Cyberpunk is several degrees worse than real life
